Ah.... I still remember my first search engine... it was a fine engine, then it got clogged with advertising and google came to the rescue with its clean uncluttered and fast interface.
It was called "Altavista" and now seems to be a part of yahoo search. Oh well, there's still the similarly named Astalavista for goodies!
