Indoctrination & Mental Gymnastics
RE: Indoctrination & Mental Gymnastics
There has to be a back and forth if we're going to call this a discussion. Do you understand what I just asked you, in my last post? Do you know your own mind? How can you state that most agree with your christology if you have to research your own christology? How can your christology be the measure of a True Christian™ if you don't even know what it is? How can you know that you are a True Christian™ if you don't know your own christology, by which you judge the True Christianyness™ of others?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yes, but I'm going out now and I'll be working tomorrow. So if I don't get back right away I'm not deserting you.

Try to get back to me quicker than the customary 2k years on this stuff. I may not be around that long.

Have fun tonight.

I hate to have to point this out but that’s only your interpretation. I have spoken to many True Christians (whatever that entails) that don’t agree with your salvation assessment.

I still don’t understand how the inspired word of God can be so misunderstood, can you?

Quote:I could say that I don’t believe in evolution because there so many different variations of how we evolved to what we are now.

There’s only one Theory of Evolution.

Quote:Just because christians disagree on interpretations of scripture doesn’t mean that we are not together as followers of Christ. My christian brothers and sisters come from many different denominations. We're all one in Christ.

So you say and yet...

Apparently being One With Christ doesn’t preclude having a cross burned in front of your church (KKK to Catholics in the US South) or having a school bombed (Northern Ireland) just to name a few.

Always amuses me when you consider that with over 40,000 strains of the delusion called christiainty, and each church points at another and says, "those aren't true christians"...if all of the christians who ever called another christian, not a "true christian" were removed from earth...there would be few, if any, left.
You, not a mythical god, are the author of your book of life, make it one worth reading..and living.

As I may have told you I was brought up Catholic and the disdain shown to the Protestants by the RCC was palpable. I was taught that the Protestants had been lured away from the One True Apostolic Church by Satan. As for everyone else, no salvation.

Lovely chaps really.

Well, I'm back with you and it's only been two days instead of 2,000 years. Go ahead and ask your questions and we'll see what I truly believe concerning the nature of Christ.

It amuses me even more when they circle the wagons in a fit of ecumenical desperation the moment outsiders start calling bullshit on their silly stories. Then suddenly it's Kumbaya, All Ye Faithful!

In my darker moods, I prefer them in the bad old days when they would slaughter each other over fictional trivialities. I suspect there are a couple of Christian members here who not only would have fit into those times quite nicely but would have flourished.

I've already asked a few. Troll-time is over. If you want to talk about christology and how yours could possibly be a reliable indicator of True Christianity™then put your big boy pants on and stop wasting both my time and your own. I'll extend to your responses precisely the same amount of respect you've afforded the subject, and an equal amount of effort as you've put into the same.
