Does knowing that your death isn't permanent count as suicide?

Oddly enough Jewish people, who the Old Testament was directed, did not believe in original sin and do not interpret the verse the way Christians do (January 28, 2015 at 2:46 pm)Nope Wrote:(January 28, 2015 at 1:18 pm)Lek Wrote: That's the big "if". No one has ever done that. Jesus lived the perfect life for us and we receive our salvation through him. As with complex organisms, mutations in religion are mostly harmful. Unlike with religion, small fraction of mutations amongst complex organism are beneficial. Quote:To give a life to save another is not suicide. To give a life to potentially save a whole species is what Christ did on the cross. Actually yes, it is suicide - It can be justified or not, in this case it's a sacrifice, but it's still suicide from a technical standpoint.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

And God already knew way beforehand everything that Jesus figured out. There was not one particle of surprise in god at anything of Jesus experience.
Kinda wonder why he bothered, and instead just issued an appropriate vision or revelation to a scribe somewhere. Maybe that is too close to just making it all up ??
Jesus is God. And God knows all. And he knew humans would sin. And he still created them. And then knocked up a virgin with himself, so that he/his son could die, to save the people he already knew would sin the first place.
And, speaking of reasons as to why I was so confused by religion classes...
