The bible is a pile of shit. It only impresses morons like you-know-who above.

Perfect like a rock or a tree is perfect. It does a nice job for what it was intended to do. It was never intended to be "literal".

To me, "literal bible" is a bad, bad bible. Non-literal bible is a good bible.

Hence, we can't let those of that ilk rewrite it willy nilly lest they really screw the pooch.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

No, you have trouble listening, billions have had no trouble hearing.

Some of my Christian friends say that the bible was written by men and is therefore just a moral and spiritual guide, but it isn't perfect in its entirety. So, is the bible imperfect or half-perfect? Or is it perfect and, by consequence, all of its content has to be literally true?

The Bible is literally the truth of God and the instruction of redemption and a free life in Christ.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

What about the other billions, GC? Must I remind you the statistics? The majority of the human race doesn't believe in Yahweh. Or did your god purposely only speak to one third of all people?

40,000 sects is not good evidence of a perfect message.

It's evidence of a bunch of gibberish. We're being told we're gonna burn, but even if christianity is right, almost every christian is gonna burn too.

I like the being instructed part where dashing little children against stones is mentioned. I suppose that fits in to redemption somehow and someone will be along shortly to explain it.

@GC, thanks for your response, it was short and precise, exactly what I was looking for.

Since you believe the bible is the literal truth revealed by god and god's followers then - Would you do something terrible or deeply violent as long as the bible commanded you to do it?
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

The real question is not whether each of the 66 books of the canon are perfect both individual and as a whole. Instead people should ask if it/they serve as a sufficient rule and guide for saving faith. For thousands of years the answer has been yes. If more recently it hasn't, then that says more about modern society than about the Holy Scriptures.

Norman Yaweh only loves that specific region of people and nothing more. Because you know if that wasn't the case christianity back then would be world wide but considering just nope no one really heard of them.
