New Age woo, pantheism, "connected"

RE: New Age woo, pantheism, "connected"
You are correct, but what's the relevance? Do you think these people are harmful?
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

Not sure who that was aimed at, but bad claims can lead to bad actions. You certainly cannot on a planet of 7 billion stop all bad claims. But it is important to challenge those claims at a minimum. The quickest way to fascism is to set up taboos.

What does this have to do with fascism? Thinking

Everything.

If I claim pink unicorns exist manage to convince tons of people they do, then win local elections, then a national election, then demand that no one offend that claim, my fans will act on my word.

Like when Hilter convinced Germans that they were the master race and that Jews were the problem.

Any claim that spreads without a counter can lead to very bad things. You can only reduce the harm, and yes you still have to allow the claim to be made. But leaving the claim to it's own devices is poison.

Just stumbled across this, this is why you challenge claims.

I don't know that seems like a hasty generalization.

Considering that your position seems to be that there's no way to tell the difference between extant things, that physical objects have no easily identifiable characteristics unless we make recourse to some vaguely defined, only ever asserted, magic woo-woo template for sensible bodies, perhaps the problem isn't that the replies you're being given aren't intelligent, but that you've committed yourself to a borderline unintelligible position to begin with. You've been inured in the depths of this utterly vapid set of ideas for so long that sensible replies to your assertions must be so far removed from what you pretend to know to be true... I doubt you'd even recognize an intelligent, realistic reply from the fantasy world in which you're standing.

I don't get it. When I hated an Internet forum I just stopped posting.

It literally amounts emotions and gap filling. It is nothing but getting stuck on pretty. It never occurs to believers that they all make the same arguments with the same amount of evidence which is nothing more than excuse making for a naked assertion.

Facing our finite reality is frightening to believers. I find being infinite more frightening considering all the competing factions and what they all say they will do to enemies.

This is not related exclusively with fascism. Western politicians do that all the time and we live in a democracy. You don't know the meaning of the word fascism, and you are conflicting fascism with national-socialism, two ideologies that are not mutually exclusive

A claim can only cause harm if it's based on hate and prejudice. An idiotic claim based on zero evidence that doesn't hate anyone isn't harmful, just stupid.

Hello McFly, the point even atheists miss is YES, there is no god. But even with that, it is still a crap shoot. Creating clubs in all that is still short term. Labels dont make any human infinite. Labels are marketing terms that benefit the the club.

There is not one friend or foe that will not die. There is no poor person or rich person that will live forever. Our clubs are local, or existence is universal. All we have is us.
