Sorry Rob, I didn't mean to sound critical, it's a very nice site other than that.

I don't know how christians can live with their version of how the world works.

Me: Accidents happen. It's a tragedy. I'm really sorry for everyone involved.

Christian: God was watching the events unfold. He could have prevented the accident from happening. He chose not to, because he's holding a grudge against a man and woman he made 6000 years ago for eating some fruit, which he knew they would when he made them. So he lets the carnage happen, and decides to save the absolute minimum amount of lives so that he can still be credited as having done something "good".

Which sounds more in tune with reality, and why would you worship the kind of sick monster I just described?

What troubles me more is the survivors and the families think this is a test of faith....

It is sad that the families will have to deal not only with their own grief, but also have to reconcile it with the judgment or 'purpose' of god. That can make it so much more confusing and burdensome.

Of course, god being double-predestinarian Calvinist, it was predestined for his glory.

It just happens to be that they didn't paid enough into the KFC Chicken bucket passed around the Church. Okay... That was mean. I feel bad that people were killed and injured...

This story makes me incredibly sad.  And what makes me even more sad is that it's another stumbling block between the religious and non-religious getting along.  Just reading the comments on the OP's article shows me that otherwise friendly people who otherwise wouldn't even know about each other's religious beliefs, and who would probably otherwise get along, can be so brutal toward each other.
