Hahaha I laughed so hard at this post. On mobile, can't kudos (OMCK, might as well be a thing). Spousal abuse is, of course, not funny, but it was just the way the post was composed lol. And just the idea of suggesting a guy like that to a guy like Brian.
Cult of Dusty came to mind while reading this thread. I don't know where he's from, but I remember being shocked when I first started looking up atheist videos. Also, does anyone remember that one story they did on Colbert or TDS about some gay mayor in some tiny hick town, and all these people were offering up these amazingly simple nuggets of wisdom and acceptance? I loved that episode.

The team doesn't sponsor the car. The $ billion in annual revenue privately held corporation Hass CNC does. Yes Carl Haas owns half of Stuart Haas racing and probably all of Haas CNC, but it is still a big money corporate sponsor separate from the team.
Did you know Carl Haas plans to hit the F1 circuit next year with his new team Haas F1?
And Brian, there are five teams on the entry list without a sponsor for next weekend's race in Texas. Some of these guys might land a small sponsorship for the race before they drop the green flag, but chances are it won't pay the $50,000 tire bill for the weekend.

I've always liked the Home Depot car myself. When I owned my house, I preferred The Home Depot over Lowes. I don't watch racing - no cable or satellite here for the last three years.

I hope Americans do hit the F1 circuit. I wonder which powerplant/chassis they'll choose. I doubt they'll try to break in with their own. Too much expertise and aerodynamics. You can't just throw a car together and compete with the Ferraris and Mercedes. I mean even the dead Marussia team and the Caterham guys have been doing it for years and they barely compete.
A quick google shows they are using a Ferrari powerplant and Dallara chassis. Dallara is a second tier chassis in F1, in F3 they shine, but they have not had a good run in F1.

Dallara is going to design and build the chassis, and Ferrari is supplying the power plants. Günther Steiner is running the team.

It looks like they are going to be the replacement for Marussia. Having Scuderia on board is great. Wonder who the drivers they'll snag are.
When the US F1 team was being put together, they were looking at NASCAR drivers, IIRC.

Alexander Rossi, Conor Daly, Josef Newgarden, Marco Andretti, Graham Rahal, Ryan Hunter-Reay, J.R. Hildebrand, Joey Hand, Patrick Long, Matthew Brabham, Jonathan Summerton, Spencer Pigot, Jake Eidson, Nick Neri and Danny Formal are on the short list of drivers being bandied about.

A lot of Indy drivers...
I like it. I really hope they do well.
It'll be really tough to compete with Mercedes AMG and Scuderia Ferrari. I think a reasonable goal would be to compete on the level with Force India and Lotus.
