Ok, so what is your problem with men having anal sex? Any type of unprotected sex even with heterosexuals has risks.

Brian, the question was would people choose to be heterosexuality over homosexuality and why.  I gave a reasons why I believe people would choose heterosexuality over homosexuality.  I never said I had a problem with anal sex.  I don't care what you or anyone else does in their private moments.

Nothing. You're you and I'm me. I put my energy, consciously or otherwise, and I think otherwise, into developing a gay identity when I was a teenager. But it could've gone the other way. It doesn't change the fact that I have, and will always have, attractions to both sexes in roughly equal measure, just that my primary focus is on men. It could've been on women, if I'd concentrated on that side instead.

I definitely think sexuality is a sliding scale, it's not as simple as three positions. I'm probably being naive and oversimplistic to have called it "genetic". I don't know what other factors go into it. But I don't believe people can just adjust the slider as they see fit.

Anyone who says they can must submit themselves for rigorous testing immediately. Go to reception and take a form.

I was just stating my opinion rob. It's just an opinion and it may be wrong. And what is a Poe by the way?

I never thought I had any choice in it but this thread made me step out of the box for a minute and look at it from a different perspective. And in any case I'm only referring to what you choose to concentrate on, not your underlying attractions. I could pick up a straight porn mag and focus on that, do it for a few months and I might find myself identifying more as straight. That's all I'm saying. It's all in my post if anyone will read it properly.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to criticize you at all. I was only putting forward my understanding, I admit my knoweldge is far from complete on the matter. Everyone is indeed different, and I wasn't calling you a liar or anything. I'm not doubting what you say, you know yourself best. I meant some people seem to say you can be homosexual, then choose to be heterosexual, then back to homosexual... whenever you want. If anyone really can do that, it would be most remarkable! Hence the testing

That's OK   It seems I've jumped into a hornet's nest. For the record I don't believe it's a choice but my post was about hypothesising how it could be a choice for those religious people who think it is. It was playing devil's advocate which I don't seem to be very good at.
