But that it isn't a proper rationalization to ok it. Its compared to someone having a propensity to alcoholism. Or really even a guy or girl lusting after someone of the opposite sex that isn't theirs. JW's don't believe that the world condition is the way god purposed

This is disgusting and wrong on so many levels that I'm having trouble trying to decide where to start.

Even if someone has the propensity for alcoholism, one does not become an alcoholic without drinking. The same cannot be said for homosexuality. Homosexuals can never have gay sex and remain homosexuals. Also, you could take it in the ass everyday for a year and not become homosexual. If you drink your entire paycheck for a year, assuming you can keep your job, you will undoubtedly be diagnosed as an alcoholic.

The problem with alcohol is immoderate consumption to the point that it causes harm to yourself or others. Immoderate consumption is perhaps considered sinful, but the activity itself is not. Gay sex on the other hand is considered sinful, even if engaged in just once.

Face it, you blindly accept an OT prohibition and will say anything in order to legitimize it and the consequent bigoted discrimination.

Well the claim is not that homosexuality is a choice but rather the choice is acting against the way god created us. Please remember that I am not defending this. But a christian can defend these claims with the scriptures. When Paul speaks of those that will not inherit gods kingdom, he mentions drunkards along side homosexuals, fornicators, idolators, etc. He doesn't say one sin is better or worse than another. And JW's are not bigots by training. Although some are, this is a personal level. The training about homosexuality is that they deserve the exact same dignity and respect as any human. But a practicing homosexual would be treated the same as a practicing fornicator or drunkard. If they weren't baptized then they wouldn't be allowed to get baptized and if they were then they could be disfellowshipped. IF someone is gay then they can't be a witness, but why the hell would they want to be?

Is it better if I would say that a JW would equate it with having an inappropriate attraction towards someone of the opposite sex? JW's also believe that homosexuals should be treated with dignity and respect like all humans deserve. According to the bible, homosexuality is wrong. I don't see why there is anything wrong from a christian point of view for not approving of homosexuality.

Well, you said you want scriptural challenge. Where does the bible say this please?

Uh... how about because other people's sexuality is none of your business?

Well, as I just pointed out to cato... practicing homosexuals could not get baptized as a JW but why the hell would they want to be?

Jesus Christ, dude.  Seriously?  First of all, what is a "practicing homosexual"? Second, what of the JW's who aren't old enough to know anything about sexuality before they realize they're homosexual?  How old does one have to be to be baptized a JW?  My guess is it's not 25, which is the age I was when I finally realized I was actually bisexual.

I meant where does the bible say homosexuality is wrong?

Please note that sexuality and sexual acts are not the same thing.

Corinthians talks about sexual acts. Two straight men could have sex with each other. If this is a "sin" then it shows that homosexuality is not the problem.

A practicing homosexual is the same as a practicing adulterer. If someone claims to believe in god and the bible, they can't say that the bible condones homosexuality. I am not arguing for or against anything. Just the fact that JW's have reasons for not accepting homosexuality. Just like they have reasons for going door to door. People may not agree with them but no one is forced to be a JW. If someone realized at a later age they were gay then they have the personal decision of how they want to handle it. But JW's will never condone homosexuality. If that person decided to leave, that is their prerogative.

Sure, I think that is parsing a bit though... if it comes down to just having love for someone then I am sure its ok. So hypothetically, could two guys have a loving relationship together and never initiate sex and be viewed as morally upright. I don't see anything unscriptural about it.

Well, that's not homosexuality then. Homosexuality is not dependent on actions, you either are or you aren't. If you never have sex with a man but are homosexual, you're still homosexual.
