Well done Stim.
A kudo may follow.
I was talking about you; not to you.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

1- If I replace a CRT with a flat screen because the flat screen is the better option, that doesn't make me immune to materialism. It just means that some of my decisions are based (in small part, most likely) on rational considerations. Since both items are material in nature, materialism factors in to some degree.
2- This seems to presume that materialism is bad. There are few things that are good or bad in and of themselves. A person can literally drink enough water to kill him. Does that make water bad? Is the person who only drinks as much as he needs "immune to an attachment to water"
We live in a world made among the other things of matter so we can't really avoid it.
We need to update old matter with new matter all the time in order to keep our head above the water.
Some people change old matter for new matter only when it is strictly necessary while most of the people make the change as soon as their eyes
are sort of hypnotized by the new, showing in this way how the materialism took control of their mind.
I just wanted to see your way of dealing with this issue.
When you say...........The flat screen was a better option......it doesn't really say anything whether you are controlling the matter or the matter control you.
I just hope that you control the matter that is why i said.......you are a superman.

setback with mosquitoes biting you with the fear that someone would rob your house while you are away, with
the rain that prevent you from going out, with getting ripped off in the hotel or restaurant and so on.
So how come that we carry with us the same amount of problems?
Quote:The last time I went on holiday things went pretty well. Who is the "we" that "carry the same amount of problems?" What are you even trying to say?
All the people that i met during my travelling around the world always agree with me that it really doesn't matter where
you are or where you go.
If you are happy or unhappy in one place you also will be happy or unhappy wherever you go.
The place or the situation want really change anything as far as better or worse is the feeling within.
When you say...............The last time I went on holiday things went pretty well..............you mean that you had a better time
compared to when you were at home.
If the feeling change from home to holiday place then the karma law doesn't work.
That is why there is a strong need to rewrite the history and tell the hundreds of travelers that i met that they are wrong while you are right.

The benefits of such interaction outweigh the negatives. That I am able to learn while I do it is simply a perk. This is very weird. I was expecting you to try some sort of variation on the "you're not TRULY happy" approach, and I think that your response contains a bit of that. But more than that, you seem to equate normal human behavior with something transcendent. Really, it's not that hard to be happy or peaceful under the right circumstances, even without resorting to mystical woo-woo. It's not effortless, as I mentioned before, but it's not always a struggle, either.
Could it be that your approach to life is actually making things harder on you? Maybe you need to find a different approach? Whatever you're doing might not be working all that well.
Interactions start from within so there has got to be a reason.
Every action is motivated.
Nothing is done for no reason unless you are a zombie.
The core of consciousness is transcendent in nature but most people don't really know.
And of course they don't know where the feeling of communicate come from.
That is what i thought you would understand Ton.
Unfortunately Ton.

It's as if Deepak Chopra and Yoko Ono had a bastard lovechild, isn't it?

That is bizarre Yog.
I understand very well that mother nature is logical.
Here however we got two point of view.
I believe that we got the consciousness that we got thanks to our own efforts
coming from reincarnation after reincarnation while you think that we got this consciousness for free
thanks to previous generation.
Now let us think what is logical and what is not logical and who is confused.
Think, think yogin.

And of course they don't know where the feeling of communicate come from. Most of what you say is true, except for the bold part which is simply nonsensical word salad. None of it contradicts what I said in my previous post, so I'm not sure why you'd type all of that as a response, then claim that I 'don't understand.' I'd ask you to elaborate, but I suspect that we'd get farther and farther from 'understanding' with each sentence.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
