No. A very bad explanation completely lacking in evidence is not a good explanation, and it certainly isn't the "best" explanation. Even no explanation is better than such a terrible one. If you agree with that guy, then to be blunt (despite a thread that was brought up recently) then you're a moron.

The difference between the Big Bang (which isn't that something came from nothing, like the guy you quoted) and Intelligent Design, is that one is formulated based off of scientific fact, and peer reviewed testing, and the other is just an idea that was tossed out there with nothing to back it up.

Also, the statement you said that "The big bang shows God created the universe" is a non-sequitor. That's like saying that because I got Dunkin Donuts this morning, that means a man from Colombia riding a horse made it for me.
