They are right that "not all", but this applies to all religions, that miss the point that is not the argument critics of religion make.

It only takes just enough, it doesn't have to be all. This is the cover liberals and moderates and even atheists fall for in a false sense of fairness, even if well intended.

The point isn't that all do it, but that the same books are used by both liberals and zealots, and it olny takes just enough to fuck things up for the rest of us.

This has been posted before, to add what i posted in reply to this, the Europol data could be inherently skewed because it may not take into account a multitude of factors, such as failed attacks and prevented attacks and state definitions of what constitutes a terrorist attack, which naturally differ between states.

I'm not involving myself in this debate as it's been done already over several threads, but I just wanted to add that.

How many times do we hear this from non-muslims defending Islam? I probably hear it once a week in some form or another. No shit! You know what I have never heard in my life? Anybody say "All Muslims are terrorists" Nobody has ever said this. It's like people are arguing against a statement that has never been made ever. It's dishonest and distracting from the real problems that we have with Islam. Mainly that it preaches morality from the 6th century.

I can point you in the direction of people saying 'the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim'. I can point you to people using the word 'terrorist' interchangeably with 'Muslim'. Would that satisfy you that it's not dishonest to point out that most Muslims aren't terrorists?

Try going to Free Republic or Townhall and saying 'not all Muslims are terrorists'. You won't have to wait long for someone to point out that the only kinds of Muslims are those who are terrorists and those waiting for the right moment to be terrorists.

I can think of specific groups comprising millions off the top of my head among whom you won't find a single terrorist: Ahmahdis and Ismailis. Not too many Sufis on the list either, especially not compared to Evangelical Christians.

Fact is, there is no good religion when it comes to morality. And going by their extremes, they're all equally bad. And you would be surprised how many rightwing leaders make a political dime by making blanket statements about all muslims. You must be virtually deaf to not notice.

Then it should be easy for you to come up with an example of a prominent right-wing politician calling all muslims terrorists. George Bush actually said the exact opposite and called Islam a religion of peace. A totally ridiculous and stupid statement if there ever was one.
