They all try this kind of crap-splanation. Here's one of many JW versions. They've had a lot of 'splaning to do over the years:

These whole shenanigans bring up a good question, how many times does one have to be wrong before they recognize the pattern?

Patterns, like reason and evidence can be easily ignored if you have faith. A failed prophesy of rapture passes through the cognitive dissonance filter and is not referred to again. The next predicted rapture that grabs the attention appeals so much to the faith of the believer, it overrides past failed prophesies.
The lure of being raptured to heaven with their lord is probably more powerful than anything that you or I could imagine (unless you are ex-theist of course). The lure simply overrides rational thought.
