I'm God. What evidence do I need to provide?

RE: I'm God. What evidence do I need to provide?
I don't. But that's ok because I never defined what I think a god is to start with.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

Ahah, cool, yes Smile

That's the thing, isn't it. No one can define it. Probably why no theist is going to give me a straight answer here, because it would bring God into the real world.

I'm amazed at the sudden extreme scepticism theists are capable of.

Well, you could - and I'm not saying you should, although I'm not entirely opposed to the idea - just make all christians mute... Not necessarily permanently but, say - for a couple of days... out of every week(?). Hmmm? Pretty please?

5.  Convince pop stars and hipsters that leather fedoras don't look good.  On anyone.

Why do you assume that this particular God would have Characteristics with which he would be able to perform the number of things you wanted him to perform? What if he is a God that is only capable of flying? If this were an Edison interview you'd be walking out the door right now

Of course it is an assumption, but, I think, an entirely justified one.  Robvalue specified the God of Abraham.  According to scripture and conventional, traditional theology, the abilities of this particular God are effectively unlimited (for a few logical limits, re-read your Aquinas).

All of the Abrahamic faiths rely on miracles - they cannot survive without them.  If Rob is unable to instantiate miraculous events including (but not limited to) the ones I listed, he cannot prove to my satisfaction that he is God.  If you can dislodge your head from your bum for a minute, you may be able to recall that this was Rob's original question.

Flying is not a miraculous event; birds, bugs and bats manage it with comfortable regularity.

Question for you:  Have you ever considered making serious responses to serious topics, or is douchebaggery merely part and parcel of who you are?

Why so much butthurt? Big Grin
A simple I meant the Abrahamic God would have sufficed. Although I appreciate the extra effort.

What would personally be enough to convince you? Please be as specific as possible.

This is mainly aimed at theists but atheist scum are welcome to chime in.

As with all posts I start, I'll reply to people usually on my ignore list as long as they are civil and reasonable.

Perform miracles...heal the sick, raise the dead, part seas, etc.

If you're claiming to be a god already known, your message would need to be reconcilable with past texts.

I've heard from an allegedly reliable source that Rob can indeed raise the dead, and have written several loosely memory-based, contradictory and fantastically embellished accounts of that conversation on a piece of paper (*) . That should be enough for Christian standards, right?

(*) In some of them, Rob is the King of Cornwall, and he was born both in Kent and in Scotland.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I didn't mean the God of Abraham, robvalue did. I thought I'd better explain it in great detail, since your reading comprehensions seems a little impaired.

So if I healed some people, raised some people from the dead and parted some seas, and I was pretty similar to your book, that would be enough?

Do you have to personally see me do all these things, or will you take someone else's word for it?
