Good sir, As i stated before bad things happens to good people because they may have done misdeeds in their past "lives". A person maybe good natured , helping others and doing good to the world. According to what i believe that person has done a lot of good karma to be born that way. However if something tragic happens to that person it could be a wrong act which was done in a past life and that is catching up. It is not satisfying to an Atheist, you would say such as act is chance, coincidence. To me i like to believe the term "What goes around comes around" the consequences of one's actions will have to be dealt with eventually.

You are free to believe whatever you want and you are not trying to convince anyone to agree with you. You're simply being kind enough to answer questions people have for you about your faith. If someone isn't willing to let it go, then it is best if you do. Otherwise it just continues on a never ending circle that gets nowhere and it is not fun.
I for one, am glad to see a Buddhist here. I've never spoken to one before and find it interesting to learn about different beliefs. I hope you stick around for a while. There are some pretty cool people here if you take the time to get to know them.
