So is crucifiction a bad or a good thing?

RE: So is crucifiction a bad or a good thing?
I think that it's awesome that Jesus was tortured killed for my sins and that, but I sometimes feel like he should have been raped as well... If horrific acts inflicted upon a Jew saved humanity from hell, then raping him right in the nail-holes might have cured cancer... Or at least dandruff, or something. Just saying... Tongue

I know, I know.  There will be some knuklehead barging in here, saying, he allowed himself to become mortal. But since that same person will also claim, there hasn't been a single moment when there was no god and all three are actually one, there's a moot point if I ever seen one.

So, don't talk about the action of crucifiction here, talk about it not making any sense in lights of the trinity. And, it's not as if we haven't been there before.
The point about the crucifixion is that it's an excellent example of complete belief and obedience without exception.  That example is so ingrained in our psyche that you yourself would sacrifice your own life without a second thought to save someone else.  You can call it self-sacrifice or altruism but it's based on the idea expressed in John 15:13 (CEV) =
"The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them."

That's actually one of the most common movie tropes.

Believers have to learn the difference between the right to claim something, and the credibility of the claim itself. Even without the science argument, if for argument's sake only, we presume it happened the way the bible says, no and sorry, the God/Jesus character is hardly moral as an idea. It smacks of selfishness and self glorification.

No. According to Paul in our Romans study, the Jews had to follow their current path, to make room for the gentile believers.

Which is it ffs?? Huh

^ what do you expect.

The bible -

Torture porn

Child sacrifice

rape

metaphorical cannibalism

literal cannibalism

endorsed cannibalism

endorsed infanticide

endorsed mass murder

endorsed slavery

endorsed racism

jesus he wasn't all loving he was a racist

so all in all every one is jumping for joy when a fucking magical jewish zombie gets his ass beaten
and nailed to a fucking piece of wood. And they have the nerve to not be  historically accurate
with the cross. Even worse everyone is saying he died for everyone's sins like... really no a guy dying
for you or anyone is not okay... Crucifixion not okay its bad. Even more so other people have
been crucified before jesus isn't special what so ever.

NO sorry, that is fake pain, like a stage illusionist. If the plot of the story were truly selfless Jesus wouldn't care about a new religion being started in his name.

The story isn't about selflessness. The story is about glorifying God. Just like Muslims use Mohammed to glorify Allah.

Doing the right thing in reality is doing it without expectation of attention.

No it is not good for anyone.

Nobody has the right to demand I forgive someone. I also don't have the right to demand anyone forgive me.

In human reality, in the civil west, regardless of your old comic book, humans have the right to associate or part company with those whom they don't agree with. Humans have the right to accept the apology of those who hurt them or not accept that apology.

Your Jesus character did not exist at all. But as an idea it is vile. It takes away your own decision making, and not only does that, but does so to seek attention for him.

The story idea sucks, as a motif.

Of course you find him to be your hero, but it sucks for those whose only mistake is picking the wrong club. I hate to tell you this, but the idea of a super hero being the cure all for all human beings is not an idea unique to Christianity. You simply have a different fairy tale.

I don't doubt your intent and I don't doubt you truly believe what you claim. But the Jesus story was not written with our modern knowledge of scientific reality, nor does it match our western idea of modern pluralism.
