Right, there's plenty of evidence that a person loves you. Firstly, they exist, clearly. Secondly, they exhibit behaviour consistent with "love", whatever that may be. They invest enough of their time and effort that it is unlikely such an act could be kept up.
It's not proof, but it's evidence.
Now with God, no proof he exists. Even if he did, I have no evidence he loves me. In fact, if he has the power attributed to him, I'd say he dislikes me quite a bit, or is at the very least indifferent. I think all this "God love" is in people's minds, and just cherry picking the good parts of life and attributing them to him while making excuses for the bad parts. What I've accomplished, I've done on my own, or with the support of others. Just saying "but God made it all happen" is an unecessary and useless assumption. If he made my life happen the way he has made it happen, he's a fuckbag.

Ohhh I am so right there with you. If he was real then it's almost like he's made my life into some sort of fucking joke. And I'm not fucking laughing.

I'm very sorry to hear that
You've fought through and are doing so well, and you get the credit for that; not the guy who threw all the problems at you in the first place. People so easily forget he plays both sides. He just has one hand up a devil puppet's arse and claims it's nothing to do with him.
Or in reality, none of that's happening and things are what they are. Life isn't fair, it just is.

That's it though. I'm tired of fighting. I need a break.

You guys...
You guys get me thinking.... and that is a dangerous pastime!
Why would a god be interested in how we humans treat each other? Why would a god care?
Do I care about how ants treat each other? or how bees treat each other? or how lions treat each other.... well.... will you look at that lion mauling those babies from another father... best not intervene, it's how it is.
If we humans, who are much closer to those animals than a god is to us, don't care.... why would the god care about our morality? our behavior with each other?
Oh... there's the caveat "we are made in god's image", right? well shit.... shit indeed... this comes out of a book I'm reading. Does god poop? Here's a good question for CL!
If he doesn't poop, then we are not made in his image at all, so this caveat doesn't apply.

Poca: No, it makes no sense at all. What are we even doing here? We're "live entertainment". He could synthesise any kind of companion or leisure activity he wants, but instead he throws a load of crap around and then watches us eventually evolve and start killing each other over who got his hair colour right.

Meanwhile the ones who "got it wrong"..such as myself...for all the world to the great suffering and believing masses.....are showered in gods love, by evidence of the fullness of their lives.
Maybe god, like many men who were purportedly "made in his image", wants what he can't have? Perhaps believers would be better served by being less available.

objectivity for the atheist
2 + 2 = 4 because when 2 is added to 2 the result is 4. If we don' wamt to get 4, then we don't add 2 + 2.
Objectivity for theist
2 + 2 = 4 because god said so. and on those occasions when god says 2 + 2 = 5, who are we to argue with divine judgment? If anyone says otherwise it's either because they are not really theists or they are misinterpreting my holy book.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

Take bets on whether or not god's carpet matches his drapes?
