Any time I hear that word/name I always think of my home towns presbyterian preachers daughter who liked to get her freak on.

When relying upon the word, does one resort to reality?
Or rather, does one rely upon the word in deference to a religious system that has never provided a shred of evidence during its entire history of existence?
I certainly know I prefer the reality over the emotional blackmail.
Faith.
I have faith that those also claiming to have it will discount everything here for the sake of comfort.
Faith is nothing special, yet it affects too many people in the wrong way.
I have faith, that one day people will no longer be plagued by faith.
So what have you got against trust, you trust things every day that are not in your control.

I trust that my paycheck will be deposited into my bank account while I am employed, and I have a good reason to believe so; Since I've been at this particular job, the money's always shown up, twice a month. I can withdraw the money. It's green! It spends!
I have even more trust that the sun will rise tomorrow morning. Let's face it: That's been happening a hell of a lot longer than I've been collecting paychecks.
Can't speak for Mr. Maelstrom, but I've got nothing against trust. Trust, to me, is having a reasonable expectation of a particular outcome, based on past patterns and/or behaviors. Much preferable to faith, in my opinion. In my view, faith is simply having an expectation based on the want or need of a desired outcome. It lends nothing to likelihood of such an outcome actually occurring.
Relying on faith, creates a sense unease in me; The feeling is akin (emotionally) to eating a New York hot dog with chili from Sonic. Very, very uncomfortable.

I had faith at one of my jobs, if I was one of the first to the bank I would get my money, those behind me had to have faith that I didn't get the last of it, true story.

I have the same faith, it came up this morning and I believe it will tomorrow, but is there a guarantee that it will, is there a contract somewhere that gives us this promise.

Faith and trust are the same thing, that was my whole point to Mr. Maelstrom, they are interchangeable. Yes faith is usually associated with religions but if you will remember from your time in church that the word trust was used many times, it's also used many times in the scriptures in place of faith.
The underlined above, by me is also trust, like the sun coming up, we trust in a good outcome or a paycheck we trust in a good outcome, many however come payday have been extremely disappointed. Many have trusted in having jobs just to go to work and find the doors closed after many years of employment. I could go on and on as you certainly know. Man and nature are not trustworthy enough to trust in 100%. God on the other hand has never let me down never. I know people have said He has but I believe if they would examine the situation they would see He didn't, they might see He knew that the actual outcome was better in the long run, life is not a moment it is running time which we need to consider at all times.

I agree, Sonic hot dogs can make one very uncomfortable and so can God when we are out of the will He has for us. Faith, trust and hope are all the same idea, they each expand on that idea, it's what we have faith, trust and hope in that matters. I choose to place mine in the eternal God who knows all things at all times. It's good to have a conversation with you from time to time, they are always pleasant, thank you.
