I'm a Texan. I see shit like this all the time ... pols who appeal to the worst in people, who don't even know they have it in themselves.
I think you're going to have to use specifics here mate, because I don't know which politician or example you're referring to.
Gosh, even I've heard of UKIP, and I'm just an ignorant American!

Someone give me Cameron's number.
As far as I, considering myself to be European before national citizen, hate this 50/50 chance of sceptics ruining it for the rest of us, you can't repeat until you get the desired result. As Tiberius said, most people don't really understand economics and consequences of any given political decisions. Not because they are stupid, but because they have very different strengths and weaknesses, very different levels of education and very different fields of expertise. That's what representative democracies are for. We elect people to do the job of political and economical decision making and they surround themselves with a staff of experts. Of course they are the ones that should have made this decision and not the people.
I consider myself human before European and we aren't going anywhere soon by throwing further divides between us. Something these enlightened apes can't use their brains to think about.

For what it's worth, which is probably nothing, I apologise to Bella and Napo. I'm getting too tunnel-visioned and insular with my thinking on all this. I've just been talking with a couple of workmen, leavers, and they're nice guys, one of them an ex-soldier, and making some good points and ultimately full of hope for the future. So you know what? Good luck. You've fought long and hard for this so I genuinely hope you get what you're hoping for out of this, for all our sakes.
