No, it's a request for clarification combined with a statement of observation.
So you want my anecdotal evidence of those who have called themselves SJW's? Or are you just going to be incredulous that people will take that label? Because people have and do.

In my experience, it is a term far, far more often applied on others by those who have an axe to grind about certain issues, most notably feminism. Its most common use is as a pejorative term against other people. I can only imagine that those who may apply the term to themselves are either naive or are making an effort to reappropriate the term.
Keep in mind, I'm no fan of people who think getting offended is a heinous crime, where people must be offered safe places from words and other such nonsense.
But the term 'SJW' tends to be used in order to simply dismiss different points of view. And that's my issue with the term. People who attempt to portray themselves as being intelligent can do better than snidely use a term that's part of an internet troll's arsenal.

Do you think this shift in debate is happening? And if so, do you think it's a more use of time to argue the social, political and global issues than arguing about mythology?

I'm starting to see that the debate against Christianity is over. It was important in 2004 when the Evangelicals were flexing their political muscle and the Culture War was in its 1941 stage. Now it just feels like we're bouncing around the rubble. The Culture War is over and we won. As for Christianity, it's also dying. It's starting to feel like arguing against alchemy.
I believe it's time to spend more time debating Islam. It has even fewer arguments in its favor than Christianity (no faux history, no supposed eye-witness accounts, just a sloppy some-guy-in-a-cave-says-he-spoke-to-an-angel). However, what Islam does have going for it is a host of Islamophile-enablers who scream "racism" whenever Islam is criticized.
Islamophilia is the irrational love of Islam by non-Muslims, extending to it special privileges and protections not offered to any other ideology. This is probably where the debate needs to be.

What exactly do you have in mind, here? What special privileges?

All religions need to be treated the same. Yet, I can make an argument against Christianity, retool it to be one against Islam (find/change the word "Jesus" to "Allah", etc.) and have a host of Islamophiles calling me a "bigot" and telling me to go do anatomically impossible things with myself.

1) There is a legitimate ax to grind with 3rd wave feminists and modern SJW's though. So that is trying to fix the issue by addressing them.
2) SJW isn't a completely bad term, there are social injustices, but not nearly as many or as far reaching as these people seem to think. What with Black Lives Matter, Safe Spaces, etc. It's a movement that started off with good intentions and ate itself, just like Occupy Wall Street, which I was a part of, and saw SJW's and whiny college kids come and ruin it with their immature child-like tactics.
3) I agree with you that SJW can shut down conversations, but with nuance and explanation, I think SJW's and Non-SJW's or people in the middle can have a dialogue. I have no problem with identifying with some social justice movements, like gay rights but think it can be taken too far when they try to take away people's jobs if they disagree. The modern SJW to me has a few characteristics. A) Anti-free speech, B) Anti-debate, C) Anti-white, D) Pro-discrimination of groups they don't like, E) Anti-cop, F) Anti-discourse, G) Anti-man and a few other things. But if the SJW doesn't practice or preach any of that I don't mind them much.

I wholehearted agree with you that the debate should shift over to Islam. And I wish Feminists and SJW's agreed with us on that, seeing as how their culture destroys women...

Why are you picking on an obvious typo/error in syntax? Are you just trying to embarrass the OP for the fun of it, or do you have something of actual substance to add to the conversation?

Here let me help you out, do you think it's a better use of time. Now like the nice lady above pointed out, be relevant to the conversation or be the English scholar you are elsewhere.
