They were showing people crying all over the place
The reason was that this happened after the beatification of the only good pope in history, on the anniversary of his miraculous survival of a gunshot wound in Fatima.
Probably will become a saint soon too...

proof that simple things amuse simple minds.
I do not think it is necessary to believe that the same God who has given us our senses, reason, and intelligence wished us to abandon their use, giving us by some other means the information that we could gain through them

Ive never seen this, but it looks like a giant hole opened up in the ozone and starting to irradiate the dumb thiest stuck in awe. Although I don't believe it was dangerous.

I've seen that phenomenon many times, it's usually a sign that it's going to rain.

Simple things confuse simple minds, what do think complex things will do to such simple minds?
If they can't understand the simplest of natural things, then they have no hope of understanding anything. No wonder so many of them fail to get evolution. It's just too complex for them. So they jump to the only thing they can get, an imaginary friend. Don't get much simpler and dumber than that. No thought or knowledge required.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

OK so what's the miracle? That it was a nice, sunny day? That there wasn't a lot of traffic? That I didn't get sick because some fuckwad couldn't hold a camera still?
Solar halos and lunar halos are not miracles, they're quite commonplace.
This just goes to show that Christians are watering down the definition of the word "miracle" to mean just about anything so that the word doesn't really have much meaning any more. The book definition of "miracle" is something like "an event which transcends the laws of science; an event which should be impossible to occur." The Christian definition of the word "miracle" goes something like this: "Any event we can point to in order to reaffirm our faith."
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Quote:WIKI:
In casual usage, "miracle" is seen as any event that is the result of an action by God and may also refer to any statistically unlikely but beneficial event, (such as surviving a natural disaster), or simply a "wonderful" occurrence, regardless of likelihood, such as a birth. Other miracles might be: survival of a terminal illness, escaping a life threatening situation or 'beating the odds.' Some coincidences may be perceived to be miracles.[3]
I think all so-called miracles are nothing more than natural events and coincidences perceived to be a miracle by the uneducated due to a total lack of understanding of the natural world. Or wilful ignorance. I'd vote for both.
