I'm sure you've been in situations when you've been offered sedation before. Consider the situation and make the best choice for you. Sleep might be a welcome relief.

Well...are you inconsolable? If you are, that can't be good for your condition. Maybe having a little something to take the edge off would be a good idea; just enough to help you relax a bit.
