The Problem Has Now Been Defined

He'll be the incumbent, and unless he hates the job, the nomination is his.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I went along with your narrative about Hillary being the one for a while, but enough with peddling this pro-Hillary bullshit. Bernie obviously had a better chance at winning the general election. Like I said elsewhere, it's not about just spousing certain policies and views. It's about connection with the people, it's about having that X-factor that people find appealing and endearing, it's about being one with the people instead of just being their emotionally distant leader. Lots of people love Hillary, that's not what is being debated of course. The problem is not enough people loved her the way Bernie was loved. Bernie cared, and it showed. Hillary was a little too distant, and dare I say, not convincingly genuine. People subconsciously pick up on that stuff. And, by the way, no one blame it on the accusations made against her. She could've won if she had more appeal. After all, just look at Trump. Under normal circumstances, he would've had his ass kicked for all the allegations against him and all the idiocies he spouts, but he has the Trump appeal, and enough people love him for that. That's a big part of why he won. (November 11, 2016 at 12:27 am)Bella Morte Wrote: Do you reckon Trump will run again in 2020? That utterly depends on if he wants to or not. My guess is he won't like it as much as he thought, but there is still quite a bit of power there. We'll see if he can handle the stress or not.

Trump appealed to a lot of people for various reasons, and although we've seen there were some reluctant Trump voters, it seems most of his voters were enthusiastic.(November 10, 2016 at 11:40 pm)Minimalist Wrote: Bullshit. Hillary won the nomination and Bernie lost. And it wasn't all that close. That chart shows a republicunt ceiling. Drumpf did worse than McCain AND Romney but it was the fucking democrats being whiny little bitches who put Drumpf in the White House. We need someone who makes us all enthusiastic, like Obama did. Like Bernie did. I took this pic in my super red town of Albany Oregon. I saw sooo much support for Bernie here in this rural, mostly republican stronghold. You know what I saw for Hillary? One sign. You know what I saw for Trump. Probably 1000 signs, stickers and flags. It's a freaking popularity contest now. I don't like it, but we need to play the effing game, or we'll just keep losing.

Whether Bernie had a chance in the primary or not, it was the responsibility of the DNC to be fair and equitable, that did not happen.
Could/would Bernie sue CNN/Donna Brazile/DNC over their treachery ?? He could take the settlement and start an Institute and likely do more good in 5 years than the Clinton Foundation will do in 50. And some decerebrate shitkunt at the DNC might get a fucking clue, but I'm not holding my breath. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Imagine the course of the election had Hillary, when approached by Brazile with the debate questions, fired her on the spot and had CNN retool the event.

Y'know Min, it's this attitude that you had during the primaries and it's really awful. You can't accept that you aren't in the majority, that most people, including some Democrats, just won't vote for Clinton. Look, I get it, you love Clinton; I can't pretend to understand why given her history, but even you have to face facts at some point: there was a reason why Democrats didn't show up, and it was Clinton being unlikable and untrustworthy. Obama didn't have those problems. He didn't have the scandals, he came across as trustworthy and likeable. He went up against two people who were vastly more likeable and competent than Trump, and he won both times. You know what that graph really shows? That Clinton wouldn't have beaten McCain or Romney either. Trump was touted as the "unelectable" candidate, when the reality is, Clinton was.
I think Hillary faced a big uphill battle for turnout after the DNC leaks that showed the DNC favored her over Bernie. The Bernie supporters were upset, and that probably hurt turnout a lot.
