Yeah, I have no idea why it happened like that.

The video is supposed to be Patrick Stewart's Ebenezer Scrooge saying the immortal line: "If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population." Which, of course, fits the Republican attitude towards social programs of, well, any kind, really. Then again, Scrooge has the decency of not being hypocritical enough to decry abortion for doing the same thing to those who at least aren't conscious enough to experience anything outside the womb yet.

So, congratulations, Republicans, you now have one fewer redeeming quality than Ebenezer Scrooge.

Well the good news is that if the Repubs kill the ACA and tens of thousands people die as a result maybe some of the lazy Dems will use the next three years to write a better plan and implement it when the Repubs get voted out in 2020.

Anyone accepting the figure from the OP and by extension the assumptions required to believe it's true should be ashamed. Hell, the rebuttals are linked in the article presented. I'm not a fan of repealing ACA, well, at least not until a better plan is devised, but this type of shit is ridiculous. Those invoking it lose credibility when berating others for swimming around in their own facts. I'm finding it increasingly hilarious that a group that constantly lashes theists for having unsound and invalid arguments will accept almost anything as reasonable if their own bias is confirmed. This is the reason why most probably weren't even bothered at understanding the basis of the figure. Fake news comes in many forms. The author linked to the rebuttal and ignores it, or worse, doesn't understand why the number is bullshit.

No one knows with any certainty what the Republicans will do, or how many will die as a result. But Sanders’s suggestion that 36,000 would die is certainly well within the ballpark of scientific consensus on the likely impact of repeal of the ACA, and the notion of certain replacement — and the hope that a GOP replacement would be a serviceable remedy — are each far from certain, and looking worse every day.

The republicunts have wasted 7 years bitching about the ACA with no discernible plan to replace it.  They do not give a flying fuck about people who cannot afford insurance and there is no reason to think that they will come up with a way now.
