Would you trust the government to put a chip in you?  If not, why then would you trust some crooked bunch of corporate scumbags?

No, never. These things change though. Ghandi's first major protest that he participated in was against Indian's being fingerprinted in South Africa. Today we give over our fingerprints without really even thinking about it. I won't be at all surprised when people start getting chipped. Sounds outrageous today but I'm sure that's where we are headed eventually.

I don't, though the government has mine on file - on paper AFAIK - from 1986 when I enlisted.\

I refuse. Now what? If there's no consequence, it's not mandatory. If there is, there's where the dystopia comes in, IMHO.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is there has been a huge cultural shift when it comes to giving of fingerprints, whether or not you as an individual do or not. (Plus you mentioned that you gave your fingerprints to the government anyway, despite your philosophical resistance to the idea. Ghandi was willing to have the crap beat out of him to avoid being fingerprinted. Overall people give their fingerprints pretty easily. Same goes for something like showing pictures of yourself online. When the internet was new, most people didn't. Now people put just about everything about themselves online. If micro-chipping comes into the mainstream, I suspect there will be a similar cultural shift.

It was over 30 years ago, I was barely 19 years old. I don't know about you, but my philosophical positions have changed drastically in that time.

No argument on the other points.

No. Our employer already keeps tabs enough on us at work. What I do otherwise, after work, is none of my employer's business.

I wouldn't let my employer look at my social media accounts, let alone put a chip in my hand. I'll take an RFID card for opening doors / paying for food thanks. No need to overcomplicate things.

OK, sounds like the consensus is no implantable chip.

How do you feel about monitoring you in other ways (non conputer), for instance your automobile or cellphone? Don't know about the rest of you but I'm leery of that also.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

The military can make do with dog tags, why the fuck would any employer even conceive of the idea that employers need more under any circumstances?
