Would you let your employer implant a chip in you?

How do you feel about monitoring you in other ways (non conputer), for instance your automobile or cellphone? Don't know about the rest of you but I'm leery of that also.
Nope. None of that either. Our employers need to realize that we have lives outside of the workplace that doesn't include them.

Why do employers even need to monitor us at all in whatever way you suggest? Especially when we are off the clock. If they aren't paying for my personal phone or my living expenses, whatever I choose to do in my down time is no concern of theirs.

At work? Knock yourself out, as long as the policy is disclosed clearly, but I'm not letting you near my phone, car, social media accounts or any other online stuff.

FWIW, I had a pager for the last 14 years of employ and could be summoned to work if it was a dire enough problem. I usually managed to talk the worriers off the ledge long enough that I could wait until my regular time to show up again. But many a meal and vacation had been disrupted by it. They even had my cell phone number, because I got paged while driving home and called from it. Those guys had no boundaries. If they tried to call me directly with out a page, and left a message, it could be overnight or even days before I responded, since it was for emergencies only and was left turned off to conserve battery power, which I told them. Dodgy  I sure don't miss that place.

Yeah, I have a work laptop that my employer can monitor all they like.

If I go into the office I suppose they can track my pass if they really want to.

Anything else is an invasion of privacy.

um . ..

uh . . ...

er . . . .

can I really complain about a chip implant considering the variety of items I've let total strangers already . . ah, insert over the years ?

I wonder if people are okay with employers fingerprinting an employee? I can't really think of a valid reason that they'd need to do that either.

No, I would not permit any chip implantation. I would actually quit the job on the spot if an employer suggested such a thing.

I work hard from 8 to 4, and that is it. I don't even take work home with me mentally, in the sense of trying to puzzle out something that was frustrating me at work that day. (Did that a lot when I was working in IT, and it generally didn't help anyway.) If I needed a cell phone for work (I don't), it would be up to the employer to provide it and pay all the bills -- and "Our hardware, our rules" is acceptable in that context. If they're supplying a car they get to do what they want to it, but they don't get to touch my wheels.

chips are a horrible idea and should never be a thing.
if its giving off some type of RFID or needs some type of internet/wifi connection or even GPS
that thing is going to be hack able. you could hack it and you could do so much malicious stuff with it.
not to mention it doesn't take much to make a botnet imagine the company you work for all the peoples chips
for said company or a good bit were to get hacked and turned into a botnet that is scary stuff not to mention.
if said chip was a ID that social security number is exposed and health and insurance possibly credit etc.
not to mention other people could track your location no that is a horrible idea even if there is a Orwellian
future it is doomed to fail because of the lack luster security and people simple sit back and stand for it because
their privacy is out there for everyone to see.
