BTW, before I forget, anyone on here who got on my case about the whole bus thing, go watch God's Not Dead. They've pretty much put out there that all atheists deserve to die, and not because of what we DO, which is the line I drew, but just because of what we BELIEVE (or rather, what we don't).
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

No, I don't agree with their message, but from how the movie was explained to me I don't agree with you.
It seems like they think death for atheists could be a blessing if the process of that death leads the atheist to God. It's still terrible and wrong, but it's not thinking atheists deserve to die for not believing. Unless I'm missing some part?

1. That movie did not say atheists deserve to die. They said other things I don't agree with and had a lot of ridiculous stereotypes, but they didnt say nor implied that atheists deserve death.
2. Don't generalize all of us based on the impression you got from a movie. My husband and I both watched that movie and thought it was awful and embarrassing. I know of many other Christians who felt the same way. And if you say you want theists to die and if you make generalizations about us, you're really no different from the types of people you claim to hate.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

So...look, I hate religious folk, that's no secret, and it's not that I want them to get run over by a bus, but...I'd rather see that than see them indoctrinate one more child. The bible is already obscene enough as it is and anyone reading it straight to a child should be institutionalized, but to actually try (and fail) to turn it into a presentable children's book is...is there a word for worse than obscene?
Someone posts saying they hate religious people and would rather see us get killed than teach our own kids about our faith, and 2 others kudos this??
I actually just kudosed it for the video, lol.

But I do believe that indoctrination of children is close to if not equal to child abuse. That goes for any ideology too. I don't think atheists should indoctrinate their children against theism either. People shouldn't teach their kids anything that isn't a verifiable fact until they're old enough to rationalize their own opinions.

That's all my parents taught me. They taught me what all the mainstream religions believe, then they taught me ancient mythologies like the Greeks, Egyptians and Norse. I couldn't tell the difference. And when the Bible was first read to me in school I thought it was similar to the Aesops fables my dad read to me only less fun and with much vaguer moral lessons. I had no idea that anyone there actually believed that stuff! I thought they were just stories.
It wasn't until 15 years later that I learned that my parents weren't even atheists. Lol. They never even told me what they believed.

Do you let your moral behaviors be defined by others regularly? I haven't watched the movie, but it doesn't matter. My conceptions of right and wrong aren't changed by what you think is right and wrong.

Having not seen the movie (why would I?), it also sounds like a variation of "there are no atheists in foxholes". That we're really just angry cowards who will beg for god's forgiveness when our lives are in jeopardy. Which is also terrible and wrong (and stupid).

Like fuck, it didn't say that. I don't see any condemnation of the sort of belief system that makes people lap that shit up from yourself or other theists on here except where you're trying to cover your hypocritical ass. Just one more example of how fucked you are in the head, that you can't see things right in front of your face. Why don't you get off my balls about it and go scream at PureFlix, people who are actively putting out Nazi-level propaganda? After all, they're the ones on your side, whether you like it or not. I'm not the one advocating for action being taken against an entire group, I'm against those who are going to be perpetrating specific offenses and wishing nature would remove them from the gene pool if and when they choose to cross a certain line.
And it's amusing how little understanding there is of this comparison. My passively (yet futilely) wanting the universe to mete out preventative measures against active child abuse, versus the active incitement of biblical heathen-slaughter over a mere difference in the opinion of a deity. Pretty big fucking difference. But I guess we all got that out of our system in the 'Did anyone see GND?' thread and just forgot about it.
