Vaccination exemption in CA, personal down, medical up
RE: Vaccination exemption in CA, personal down, medical up
I am attending graduate school, and had to be re-vaccinated for MMR to attend. The university plainly stated that my registration would be cancelled if I failed to comply. I had no issue with this and went ahead and did it. (even though the shot fucking hurt!)

Am I the only one who always looks at the needle when it goes in because I feel MORE pain when I don't look?

Because.... when I look I know the exact moment it's coming. The shock of not knowing exactly when I feel the needle coming in makes me suffer more when I don't look. I find pain worse when it's unexpected. It's easier to bear pain when it's predictable because you can prepare for it more easily.

Just my two cents.

No, I have to look at it, too! The MMR vaccine is given under the skin, and I barely felt the needle go in. It was the vaccine itself that hurt, stung like I can't even describe. I swore at the guy giving me the shot. I live in the midwest US, where everyone is white, religious and super, super polite, (to a fault, if I am honest). I am a Jersey Girl and that's just how we express ourselves.

I said "OOOWWWWW! GODDAMN!" and he turned bright red. He was really offended.  Tongue
He's really lucky I didn't say "OW! FUCK ME!" like I usually do.

Oh my gosh, New Jersey people are like the rudest people ever lol.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

The fuck you mean by that!? You want a piece of me!????

It was a culture shock to move here. I felt like people who were this friendly and who made eye contact wanted something from me. I also feel they are a lot more passive-aggressive. In Jersey, you know where we stand. Fuckin A.

I have heard pretty much this same exact thing being said by another jersey native I know who moved to ohio lol.

People from Ohio are friendly and make eye contact? Actually I do notice some of that when I go to the next town over to get groceries. I live in the poorest city in one of the poorest counties.

Funny enough direct eye contact in Inuit culture is viewed as rude .And if you do it to an elderly person it's an insult .

Not vaxxing one's child is pure child abuse. Anti-vaxxer parents are the epitome of idiocy.

I lived in Toledo for a while. Hated that damn town but the people were really cool.
