Not that the edge case matters in the least.
When it comes to any suffering involved in gender, the illusory nature of gender is as irrelevant as the illusory nature of a great many anxieties, phobias, and vectors of depressive thought. One can reject the insistence of cultural conformity and still be negatively affected -by- it. Case in point, that simple rejection is a palpable -cause- of gender related misery in the first place....... even among gender conformists. So, hilariously, is conformity.
This petty shit is bad for errybody. It's the reason that..when a guys heart gets all a-flutter at the notion of people self identifying..if I call him a pussy..everyone knows what that means, and it will hurt his demonstrably fragile feelers. Obviously, gender is an illusion. The lady is swinging richard. Terrified of non conformity, and terrified that the browns or the womenfolks might be getting something...because that would ruin 'Murica!

While there may be some justification in believing that some people with male genitals have female brain structures*, I cannot think of any way to justify the notion that people can be whatever race they want to be, other than recognizing 'race' as the social construct that it actually is. *The notion that there is a specifically female brain seems like a can of worms for feminism.

Well this is what soul searching is about. Find out who you really are, instead of letting other people tell you who you are. People who break the mold shouldn't be vilified, because there isn't really a mold when it comes to Human nature. We're far too complex to fit into general types. It is in our nature to seek independence, and make our personal mark in the world. We are a social species that does best in groups, but we are also individuals. We are not sheep, to be led by a shepherd through life. We forge our own lives.
