The economy was always recovering . And reports of slow growth were overestimated. And this has fuck all to do with winning or losing .

You do realize that the economy, employment and damn near every economic metric has been in improving since around 2009, right?
Trump inherited a booming economy and damn near full employment. Yup Of course the Trump tards will always insist otherwise . Because Obama was satan .
I don't like crediting predecessors in terms of leadership one way or the other . But if were going to play simplistic game . Then obama is the only reason to Trump successes .

And despite his claims he sure as hell didn't inherit a mess

Nope
Quote:Question. Is it a bad thing for the economy to have business investment increasing dramatically?
Nope.
Quote:Question. Do you benefit from an improved business investment within the borders of the USA?
Nope.
Quote:Question. How many of you will pay more income taxes? For me, my income tax liability will go down next year.
Neither I nor my business will pay -any- federal taxes, effectively, under the new scheme..in this, my situation is very much like the people for whom this tax holiday was created. All it will take is a little legal razzle dazzle - no actual change to my business required. Many of my socioeconomic peers (and..conveniently, my customers) however..will take a hit. So..I suppose, if thats the context of "increased business investment"..from the q up above, then maybe I will be affected. I kindof depend on them maintaining a certain level of disposable income. This hit was, ofc...famously intentional and punitive, for the crime of living in a liberal island and probably not voting for the God Emperor. Unfortunately, my business model only works in those liberal islands...where people and property have high net worth and taxes are set to follow suite.
Fuck yall, got mine.
It is true that I am new enough that I don't have a reason to question motivations. That said.
Your Nope answer on whether you benefit from improved biz invest confuses me. Are you saying none of your customers own a business? None of your customers benefit by improved business (trickling down to you via disposable income).
I do not know what kind of business you own, or what the clientele is, but, its kinda funny to see your own dependency on trickle down economics. That is what you are claiming, more money in your upwardly mobile customers pockets will find its way into your pocket, right?
I don't mean to be dismissive, but I am skeptical of the accuracy of your knowledge regarding your customers income tax position.

Your Nope answer on whether you benefit from improved biz invest confuses me. Are you saying none of your customers own a business? I can authoritatively state that none of them own a business..because they all work for my wife (and I personally know each and every one like only neighbors know each other), yes. They're middle class automotive factory workers who have the jobs every county is tripping over themselves...to gut their counties..to provide.....and who own just enough to see a tax -hike- from these tax "breaks", but who cannot..without committing fraud, rearrange their incomes (as I can) in the model of a pass through business, nor attribute their wages (as I can) to an LLC. They have good jobs, you see. I'm a "consultant" well dug in to local, state and federal government. In the winter...I sometimes pull part time hours managing them as a production supervisor - because I have a higher level of education/experience and come from a more demanding industry (DOD contract manufacturing). I have the chops and contacts (nepotism ftw) to come and go as I please and set my own terms. They, on the other hand, are prisoners of their own relatively fortunate situations.
To make it relatable...you know those guys you see putting mosquito traps on ditches and taking samples from your watershed runoff and quantifying game fish pops in local waterways? That's me.
(NRCS, EPA, KSAE, RCDC, F&G) -I'm a professional redneck. I work for fun, not because I have to (this hasn't always been the case). I do not have a mortgage or student loans or any debt whatsoever, and my effective tax rate is precisely 0% (before the tax cut for the rich I had to pay an accountant to effect that, now I don;t). I get a check every year.
Quote:None of your customers benefit by improved business (trickling down to you via disposable income).
Correct, in fact, this "trickling down" nonsense to which you are referring -reduces- their disposable income..and., thus, the amount of money I can extract from them as a business owner myself. At some poinmt, they are no longer my target market (and are fucked in their own right) - but...ultimately.... I'll be fine..because they aren't my primary source of income. That would be you, in the form of federal funding, lol.

Niche agribusiness. I operate a very small farm with a very specific clientele (predominantly the state). I depend, however, for my beer money..... on people not falling for bullshit that impoverishes them..like trickle down economics.
Quote:I don't mean to be dismissive, but I am skeptical of the accuracy of your knowledge regarding your customers income tax position.
I don't mind, but your "skepticism" doesn't change any fact of any matter.
Any more questions?

Well, at least, it trickles best when it trickles up- for the simple fact of having passed through a plebes hands along the way.

Quote:Unemployment among black workers is at its lowest since at least the early 1970s, when the government began tracking the data.
The black unemployment rate of 6.8 percent in December was the lowest since the Bureau of Labor Statistics started tracking it in 1972, a year in which the rate ranged from 11.2 percent to 9.4 percent. In the 45 years the data has been tracked, the unemployment rate for black or African-American workers aged 16 years and older has never fallen below 7 percent.
I'll accept this as good news. Now let's reduce it to an even lower percentage and fix all the other inequities that black citizens in the US have to bear.

It's nice that your liability will go down next year, but there's a lot more to the economy than your or our final tax bills. For instance there's the question of whether enough revenue will be raised from economic expansion to make up for the loss of revenue from the lower taxes and the increased spending on the military and other funding the GOP favors. Historically it usually hasn't worked out like that. We had a great economy under Bush, until the record-breaking crash. There's more to a sound economy than constantly 'priming the pump'.
GOP members keep running on getting the deficit down, but that's never what they do when they're in office.
My liability is important to me. For years and years I wondered why the standard single person deduction was lower than the Fed poverty level. At least now, for a short time I would guess, a single person with no children will have an automatic deduction of 12K - $60 short of the fed pov level. Long overdue. And that is without debating whether the Fed pov level is an accurate reflection of poverty.
Yes, there are questions out there regarding revenue. That is a we-will-see for now.
