There's been enough to impeach trump from the first day...his continued presidency nothing more than a testament to how much shit the r's are willing to swallow to keep an empty head with a pen in his hand in office while they control both of the houses. There is, ofc, a certain amount of cover his base ass bitchiness provides them...as well.

In some alternative universe where r's managed to cram their every wingnut dream into law in the first year, -they'd- be the ones impeaching him for damage to the brand since they;d have no further use for him. The republican establishment would much rather have a President Pence.

I have fond memories of yesteryear, when every other day there was an "It's Happening!  Draw up the impeachment papers!" revelation that signaled the end was imminent for the Trump family.   After a year, I think most Americans, outside of the diehards, are recognizing that it really was a witch hunt and a waste of money.  It'll be fun when Mueller comes out and says it's over and Trumps in the clear just in time for the midterms.  Another masterful piece of strategery from the DNC.

It's fine that you're holding out hope, but be honest with yourself.  Do you really think anything is going to come of this?  That Mueller has some explosive findings, and it's the only thing in Washington that hasn't been leaked to the press?  I mean, you never know.  But handicap it.  You've got $1000 bucks.  What odds would you need for you to bet that grand on Trump being charged with anything?  10-1? 20-1? 50-1?

Yeah.  He interviewed someone.  What is the implication of interviewing Jeff Sessions in your mind?  What conclusion do you think people should draw from Jeff Sessions agreeing to talk with Mueller without a subpoena?

People should care about Russia, which is why the media continue to report on it. If the media just reported on things that people cared about, we'd be reading fluff stories everywhere.

The mere possibility that a foreign power, and a historic adversary at that, could have possibly interfered with our election process is bad for our democracy.

What it means to me is that Mueller is getting closer to the big guy. That's not sitting well with the trump camp at all. And I can't really comment about what other people should think about it because I'm not them. 

All I know is that for me, personally, I hope there's enough to get trump out of office. He has embarrassed the fine people of this country long enough and it's time for him to go.

One that springs to mind immediately is the possibility that Mueller has evidence that Sessions lied to Congress in denying contact with the Russians ... and what Sessions might be willing to do in order to minimize his legal exposure in such a potentiality?

If the CNN type media reported on it, rather than tried to shape stories that implied things democrats wanted to hear, I think people would be less resistant to it.  Unfortunately, that's not how for profit news rolls.  Who wants to read about 'inconsequential attempts to change a few voters minds' when you can read "AMERICAN ELECTION UNDER SIEGE BY RUSSIAN INFLUENCERS!!"

But what we seem to have that's tangible is Russia posted a bunch of fake shit on Facebook and Twitter.  So for a year, people have been hearing "OUR DEMOCRACY IS UNDER ATTACK!  WHO KNEW WHAT!?!?!?!?"  And what we've seen is a picture of Jesus arm wrestling the Devil in a Facebook Meme.  It's hard to reconcile the two things.

If you don't connect the hysteria of the initial claim with something more significant, people are going to lose faith in the people acting hysterical.
