Actually, you weren't the only one who found that sentence clumsy. A little punctuation would have helped.
But that's no reason to accuse Huggy of cultural appropriation.

The fact that communists were scumbags does not get you off the hook for also being a scumbag.

The murder of the maya and Aztecs killing hundreds of millions catholics V whatever the native population believed.
etc etc etc.
Centuries of Christian killing, stamping out all who questioned their faith.
Did you ever wonder why Christians are "god fearing"? I notice in order to make your point you literally have to span close to 1000 years, meanwhile Communist regimes are responsible for 149 million deaths in less than 80 years.
Yes Christianity has been shitty for well over 1000 years.
The deaths in the name of communism, you will notice, are not deaths in the name of atheism.
And I have long said that people will commit atrocities in the name of any strong idea.
People will, for example, shoot up a pizza place because they have been lied to about paedophile rings, they will kill themselves for womens suffrage and they will kill for communism. But mostly they kill for religion, or has 9/11 taught you nothing.

He didn't, though. The first thing he mentioned was the Holocaust, which happened at roughly the same time as Holodomor and other Communist-led genocides. I think we can all agree that people are killing people, but there's never been an atheist regime that was like, "Kill everyone who believes in god."

No, it is pernicious evil that values the "common good" (as defined by the State) over individual liberties.

And when the State is the people?
The inverse of socialism is not capitalism, it's barbarism.
So there's that.

No. it is about not having all the benefits of a society heaped on a few individuals.
I see a little history lesson is in order.
There has always been socialist like ideas floated. The first time we see them written is by Plato in his republic.
But the modern understanding of socialism was created in reaction to the unbalanced world of Victorian Europe, where the masses toiled in terrible conditions purely for the benefit of the wealthy factory owners.
The idea was to share the profits of shared labour more equally amongst the workers so that the standard of living for the many was improved at the expense of the uber wealthy tyrants were using them mercilessly.
Examples of a socialist and beloved system is the NHS where we all pay what we can so that no one struggles with the burdon of health costs when ill. It works fantastically and I don't know how my family would have coped without it.
So basically you are wrong at a fundamental level.
You may be getting socialism confused with Stalinist communism which is a common mistake among americans for some reason. Its almost as though your educational system routinely lies to you all!
