IKR? Old Man Coyote expects me to develop my own understanding by seeking out transcendent experience. If I couldn't develop my own understanding and contextualize it's numinous form I'd never be able to make medicine. The lord of creation has no need and no time for mindless head-bobbing dolts.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I wish KingPin was still here to weigh in.
He is one of those Christians who did not accept evolution, but he is on the contrary, very smart, level headed, and logical.
He said there was scientific evidence behind his conclusion that humans did not evolve, but never got around to fully explaining what it was.
I don't agree with his conclusion, but would have been interested to hear what he had to say on the matter and how he came to it.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

He said there was scientific evidence behind his conclusion that humans did not evolve, but never got around to fully explaining what it was. The second statement contradicts the first.......and he never got around to it because it doesn't exist.
Mystery solved.

..And to clarify, I don't mean to insinuate that other theists with this position who have commented here are stupid or dont count. I merely read the OP and and just made that comment bc I remember Kingpin having this position. I'll need to read the thread and see what the others have said.

IOW, every conceivable belief exists somewhere in Christianity. Christian Scientists have the balls to call themselves Christians just like scads of the rest of them. No surprise there. That Jesus failed to set up a proper and rigorous franchising and/or multi-level marketing plan for His religion is something the True® religious folks of this era are just going to have to live with.

Again, I'm only interested in what the scriptures say, not someones misguided belief of what they think the scriptures imply.
Find me anywhere in the bible where it states one is not to go to a doctor.
Quote:Luke 8
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
Why is this Jewish woman seeing doctors if it is forbidden?

Believe it or not, it's in the Bible, and there are folks that take it absolutely seriously. I believe they are called Literalists. Perhaps you've heard of them ???
That scripture doesn't mean "don't go to a doctor"...
There are conditions that doctors cannot treat, as in the above scripture, therefore "they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
As far as I know, Reverend Pat Robertson is still doing his Word of Knowledge segment on his (or his successors) 700 Club TV Show. He announces healings for all manner of maladies, from impotence to virulent cancer, pneumonia (take THAT Scientologists!), and pulmonary edema, among others.
If one has been healed, by Reverend Pat Robertson or any other (Christian) faith healer extant that one believes in, of what use would a subsequent visit to a doctor be, other than as an affront to ones faith healer, and by extension, Jesus who has granted their healing power?

I set a one time record for 700 Club today, if I can stand watching it, I'll check and see if the Word of Knowledge is still being done.

I use to believe in evolution. I know it's impossible on several grounds now. At least in the naturalism way.

Funny how your change of opinion coincided with returning to religion. Imagine that. What a coinkydink.

Yeah, you become less cowardly and start thinking for yourself and rely on his help, and then the signs all become quite clear.
