Who let you out of the staff area ?
I'm sure you haven't buffed the linoleum tiles yet in the break room.

What? Those, too? But... I just scrubbed the toilets using nothing but cotton balls just like you told me! My knuckles hurt and I’m sure I need to wash my hands for two hours. This job sucks balls, man. Cotton balls.

A few reasons, really.
#1. Finding like minded people. Honestly I'm a bit more confident in my atheism since coming to this board. I don't know that many atheists in real life. And I have a LOT of religious people surrounding me. I remember back when I was a theist, I was stupidly offended by those "You know it's a myth" billboards. But now, I realize that as an atheist it's easy to feel alone.
#2. Debating with theists is always good. You can't really do it on most Christian Forums without being ganged up on or kicked off.
#3. I get a lot of my news from here. I wouldn't have heard about a lot of the stories I hear about without Minimalist lol
#4. To commiserate about religion. Seriously it's pretty messed up.

Is the US second only behind the middle East as far as societal pressures to conform to religion? It seems that way...
That sucks guys ... I feel for you all.
Is there parts of America where religion is not a big "thing"? Like NYC or somewhere else...?

I came here wanting to discuss the problems with religion, and to support atheists around the world who are suffering at its hands.
I ended up making lots of friends and enjoying all kinds of interesting debates and silliness!

(This post was last modified: May 12, 2018 at 2:59 am by ignoramus.)
I mainly came here to learn. (hence my username).
I lurked from afar for a while ... Reading posts by eg: Stim and Esq and Rhythm, Chuck and many others ripping new ones into ignorant religious people trying to debate them.
Whilst I enjoyed reading the rebuttals, I realised I was more fascinated by the logic being used. I also realised that although I was atheist, I still was a little fuzzy about things like morality, evolution, fallacies, etc.
So yeah, I joined up mainly to learn ...And I'm a better man for it.
But I stayed for the cookies which Losty and Luckie gave me!
Thanks guys. (It's the little things which mean the most)
