But such a cosmic coincidence might be good enough. Again, its just mind bogglingly unlikely.

I'd be blown away by that too, but there could be evolutionary reasons for that to happen. Fingers are neccesary for tool use, upright walking for distance travel, etc. So I'd be shocked for sure, but I'd say a Christian like religion I'd put it in the realm of so shocking as to be miraculous.

I don't understand the attitude of some atheists who are like "nothing can convince me"

Actually my burden of proof is quite low. I'd say about the same as the existence of any other sort of creature, maybe even less.

But the 'evidence' offered by theists falls way way short of that.

If god gave a cosmic weather report, announced from the heavens, or beamed into the whole worlds brain. That would be pretty convincing.

What would need to be it's accuracy percentage?

And there go the goalposts! From the OP:

Quote:...the predominant religion in their planet is very compatible with Christianity...

The death and resurrection of Jesus is the keystone of Christianity If the alien Jesus didn't die on the cross, their religion is in no way compatible with your particular flavour of Christianity.

Yes, the death and resurrection would still have happened. Just not by way of a cross, since this is another planet and I assume they would have different means of execution.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Aliens from the other side of a big lake, or the other side of a big galaxy......I don;t see why it would matter.

The reason that I;m not a christian has nothing to do with how hilariously wrong the religion gets everything....it has everything to do with what my reaction would be if it had gotten anything right. There's a sky wizard in dereliction of duty because he prefers his mortal drama? The solution to a mountain of human inequity is to string up the better man?

Pass. I don;t care where the salesman is from. The vatican, de moines, or alpha centauri.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

My bold.

Yeah. It's the same exact attitude as some religious folks take when they act like nothing could ever convince them that something about their religious beliefs is wrong. A person who genuinely seeks truth wouldn't turn a blind eye to strong evidence that points in a different direction as what they already think is true. I suppose people like that exist in all groups.

Aliens with stories isn;t strong evidence, it;s more of exactly the same evidence.

Given all anthropologist say Shaman figures were part of all human history all around the world. Then..

Yeah... if naturalism is true, it's not highly unlikely that we find mirror images of our religion else where.

That is why I said, you have to investigate the truth of the book and see if it's divine.

It's like the miracles of Moses vs the sorcerers magic,  sure some similarity, but are they on par?

You have to analyze the holy book... no matter how alike the structure of the religion is.
