Sure, but the question isn’t does he know he’s being an asshole. He may not actually know enough about the law to know he’s breaking it. Or, given that he's an obscenely wealthy businessman with a long history of unethical behaviour (even pre-Candidacy) he simply doesn't care about legal matters until they threaten to bite him in the ass.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Unless such ignorance stems from some form of mental incapacity.
If the Trumpster is commuting treason, whether he understands it or not, he should be held accountable under the laws of the nation.

I'd be more inclined to believe this. Evidently he either doesn't care or doesn't think he will have to face any consequences for his behavior and should it come down to it... he'll blame everyone else.

Is the Kathy Griffin/Trump head becoming less offensive?

I never even hinted that I thought it was an excuse or that he shouldn't be held accountable. I'm merely suggesting that he might be a blumbering idiot more than a calculating mastermind.

In so far as he doesn’t actually listen to anyone when he smells self interest, he is his own mastermind.

And if he keeps his way with Brett Kavanaugh (who explicitly believes the President is above the law), and he hasn't reached the King Gorilla Point with the Republicans , that will likely be the case.

Actions speak louder than words. Can anyone point to a specific policy or action of Trump that has been favorable to Russian interests? Just asking a friendly question, not trying to start an argument.

Do you really think actions speak louder than words in global politics? If you speak like you're on Russia's side, the whole world will believe it, whether you act on it or not. What he says is very important. I wish Republicans would start listening.
