I think that current culture demands that his head needs to be removed.

Would Dawkins have a significant blast/spray pattern?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I haven't read The God Delusion, but compared to typical apologists' arguments, it can't help but be an improvement.

To the OP: Isn't writing children's books about atheism kind of like writing about how to not collect stamps?

No, he left biology and entered making money on gullible people industry. His books contain his own made up version of theology so he can trash it.

I guess a dumbed-down version would be his logical next step. Kids and teenagers aren't as critical and believe nonsense more easily.

We know. That's why theists try to get them young. Because it's harder to convert an adult that isn't already going through hard times in their life.

I’ve read it and still have a copy somewhere.

While I’m not much of a fan of Dawkins, I found it well written and it made a lot of sense.

No. Dawkins is merely trying to catch 'em young, before the religious indoctrination has a chance to begin.

Given that Christian evangelicals are actively targeting young people, not only their own, but others' as well, it's hardly an academic issue.
