If it wasn'y for a hippie dude named Yeshua, there wouldn't be Christians or Muslims.

Sandal wearing prick!

If Jesus were alive today, he'd be one of those annoying prats at a coffee house, nursing a $4 espresso while he takes up $20 worth of table space while working on his screenplay.

I know how the sound of "endless kneeling" makes you depressed, subjugation, loyalty to.

But the intelligence of the creator is alround better than that of any of us, even all of us together.

Wouldn't it make sense to listen to someone who knows better?

I want to know how many times in life you said 'oh boy, I messed this up again'.

Not everyone want to live forever. There is God or isn't, people just don't see point in fearful life before some Sky Boi.

This, at least, seems likely to be true.

Probably. But I’m always open to new arguments. It’s just that none ever comes. Neither does the creator seem the slightest bit interested in me or anything I do; if it could spare me a few moments maybe a reason would emerge.

I don't think arguments make people subjugate to the creator.

It's not like choosing warm water out of a water tap because you want some.

(March 20, 2019 at 2:19 pm)Catharsis Wrote: I'm not sure where this is coming form but here I go;

The point of believing is not being convinced the creator exists.

Believing, if I may say what I think, is doing what the creator finds meaningful.

Believing is a verb, it's about what you do here, the good fruits
not an endless debate with trolls claiming the creator does not exist
and trying to convince them when they do not want any answers.

Perhaps that's what is written, don't throw your pearls before swine for they will trample them.

Believing Jesus rose from the dead is confessing Jesus is Lord
and doing the will of the creator.
you've got 4 different thing being titled as belief..
1st believing is a noun (person place thing or IDEA)
here is the actual defination:
be·lief
/bəˈlēf/
noun

  1. 1.
an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.
"his belief in the value of hard work"

  2. 2.
trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
    "a belief in democratic politics"

what you have written up in the OP is more akin to faith.. or blind or baseless faith. meaning you can not demonstrate what or why you have faith, it is just a point of fact that you do.

Belief is a whole different thing while belief requires a measure of faith. Faith is not the only fuel that sustains belief. Evidence begets confidence, as with science the more evidence you have the strong your belief in it. Now if you wish to trade blind faith for evidence based belief, you simply must follow and look for God where He (not man, not religion) say to look! and you will literally find God right where He said he will be. Over time your interactions with God will grow and fortify your faith until it solidified into a foundationed belief. as strong if not stronger than anything 'science' can offer. if for no other reason than the fact you witnessed God yourself.

Some thinking might help.

That's right, put some thought into what you say so that it makes sense.

@catharis

"Wouldn't it make sense to listen to someone who knows better?"

Well, I usually do. These people are called 'scientists' , such as say Brian Cox, and the odd philosopher. I've actually found one here, and it ain't Bela.
I also listen to the teacher when I'm doing a course.I have even changed my opinion about a few things because of arguments made by some of the saner members here.

If you mean religious authority figures, I've never actually run across one who 'knows' anything. They make a great many claims they can't prove, and promises they cannot keep. Like your good self, they seem to have not yet learned to tell the difference between "knowledge' and " belief."

The claims of religious believers are less credible than those of the "Aliens are among us" brigade ,and they have no credibility..
