On a tangent here, I have a blind fried, and we were talking to another guy and he referred to her as an "invisual", that is the PC term for blind people here. She stressed well enough that she didn't like that term "I am BLIND", she said.

Blind I can understand. It doesn't have a literal meaning, AFAIK, that suggests something dehumanizing. Invalid, well, it literally means "not valid", so ...

EDIT: After doing some reading just now, my bad. Invalid is not meant to mean "not valid" in this context. Apologies.

She needs professional help, fast.  You can help her by stressing that reality.

She claims she tried to find some shelters to go to but as she's not homeless they turned her away. It kind of is domestic abusive but it's not spousal abuse. I don't know where to suggest she goes.

They turned away a person who came looking for help, who was hurting herself?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Mental health services are crummy, as are domestic abuse services. Either that or she doesn't do a good job of speaking up for herself. Whatever the case may be, she has to actually be "homeless" before they can help. I think the phrase is "damned if you do, damned if you don't".

I sincerely doubt that she has to be homeless before self harm is seen to be an issue.

She needs to speak up, and if she won’t....then speak up for her.

I meant she can't get help for being homeless without being homeless first. I don't know to speak up to. That's why I came here.

What's the UK version of 911? You could call up the emergency hotline if something bad happens, and if not that, then call BeyondBlue or something.

If you want to help her, you have to take the initiative and contact someone who can help for her.

But if your friend is a grown person what does it matter who her parents want her to hang around? I mean she seems to be an invalid, but still isn't there some social security for people like that to be independent from their parents?
Right. I am just going to reinforce that, jw's are pretty rough with "apostates". This kid sounds to be in an unhappy place that is only going to get unhappier. Seek professional assistance is the best route.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It is just to get her free from the evil church or are you looking to possibly sponsor a long term care similar to what the church is in a position to do for her?

I know from being apart of a benevolence program people like this are the one's we as a congregation are looking to help but at the same time would rather spend the money on a full on church member rather than someone who does not believe and is only in attendance to take advantage of the church's generosity.

If you want to help look to see who has this person's long term interest best at heart.

Helping her express her hate for God is not going to help her situation with the people who can provide at least some measure of assistance to her family and her situation.
Reading comprehension Drich...see if you can locate some and put it to use.

Nothing is said about a hatred of god.  What is said is the person's parents don't want them to associate with people who are not JWs, therefore are worldly, in the jargon.

It also sounds clear that she is dependent upon her parents due to her health.

The JWs are known for being able to completely turn their backs on people, even family, when the person doesn't follow all their rules and regulations.
glob...

I know the JWs are buttholes if you are not in tight lock and goose step with their law. that is why I asked what where the intentions of the person who wants to help? IE what does the op want to do to help his jw friend? is it
a.. just to hate their god?
b.. long term help? (because if it is to just to open hate the jw god they will shun her and take any help they are giving ther or the family away..

IE if you are going to help her hate god you also need to be read to fill the need the church currently is filling for the friend..

otherwise keep out of it as you will only her the jw friend more if you help her cast off the church that maybe supporting the family

Do you understand now?
