So why are we even discussing banning religion?

So have certain political assemblies, and that would be unthinkable to ban.
You fucking punish people for what they DO. Not for the fact that they get together and talk shit.

Absolutely. I keep asking this. What would be left? Without chruches, without sunday schools, without religious tax shelters, no religious influence in politics, no representation in law....what would be left?
What do they do? Picket fags? Fuck children in the ass? Stone people to death? Manipulate the legal system to murder their children? Mar our education system....? Obviously these are just my opinions but I see absolutely no redeeming qualities to any of it. There is nothing I can pick up and defend. I can defend cannibals and terrorists but not religion..wtf?

Sorry, summer, but being gentle on religion has already proven to have no good effect on the evil of religion. Again, it's like looking at a cancer, saying, "well, maybe it'll just go away if we don't touch it too much."

I'm not claiming any high ground here btw. Is it heavy handed? Yes. No argument from me on that count.
(this is why people such as myself should not have positions of power)
addendum; Matter of fact, I tell you what, give me 1 week of absolute and tyrannical control of the globe, I'll swing the sword, and then you can all cry to high heaven about how you completely opposed me from day one, and put my ass against the wall last, you'll still be better off for the nasty shit that I would do.

Except cancer has absolutely NO redeeming value, whereas "group gathering" has at least some benefits, cloaked in religion or not.
Look, guys, I don't think religion is necessary to have happiness of life, but it's shite to ban it based on the bad some of it has done. Does it need to be subjected to secular laws? Yes.

Use a figurehead to promote charity. Provide (delusional) comfort in the face of death. Offer explanation for abstract feelings.
Why make people get rid of churches as part of it?

I'm always skeptical of people who think they know what's best for the entire world, my love.

Ah, but you see, the churches are the tumors. Lots of bad comes under those bumps. You know this, yet you want to let it continue to spread? In a way, that is like having an ant infestation, knowing where the ant hill is, and just moving your kitchen to keep the food safe.

Hahaha, that's it, I know that giving me the reins is a bad idea...lol.
They want them, they are trying to get them, and when left unrestricted they will kill you for them. They have all of the justification they need to do so. Defend that gathering. When you go to war you crush the factories that produce the weapons. Religion is that factory, the people are the weapons. It's a cynical view of the matter, and any solution would seem to be dystopian, but what is the alternative? I'm not arguing the morality of something here, I'm arguing for practicality. Ive said this on these boards so often. Those who wish for the end of the world will one day grow tired of waiting. I'd even allow that religion was less dangerous in the past than it is now, considering the "options" available to the faithful today as opposed to then. The inquisition required an iron grip on all of europe. Dirty nukes take one religious fucktard.

Ep, seriously! You would ban a building specified to a certain purpose because some sort of "evil" might lurk inside it? Get rid of government buildings then!
