So, in other words, he did it for the money?

In the past, I've raised thousands of dollars for charitable causes, and never once did I even dream of wanting to keep even on cent of it.

But that's a godless immoral atheist for you.

Yeah, I agree. I don't do charity often, but when I do, I could never dream of keeping some for myself. Despicable!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Because god is an imaginary placebo whereas the rich crooks who daily sucker gullible people into believing he exists can never have enough money.

Besides if their god is the god of money, wealth and lies, I'd rather embrace the truth and retain my humanity, so I'll probably always be poor. Tongue

I don't know why he's raising money for Haiti. His god is the one that fucked them in the first place.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I always thought Christians thought Haiti fucked themselves.

God supposedly punished Haiti, finally, for a pact they made with the devil or some shit like that. I don't know why God felt the need to punish them belatedly. It seems God's trigger finger is becoming slower with age, and also his aim is truly terrible.

Full disclaimer that this is anecdotal experience and not based on statistical study:

So how come it is that every atheist I've known is a person of integrity and compassion while most Christians I've known are lying scumbags, disloyal unloving people, snotty bigots, narcissistic assholes or any combination thereof? Even prior to my interest in religion, I'd observed that the most staunch Christians were the most miserable excuses for human beings. At the time I'd hypothesized that they give all their love to Jesus and have none leftover for anyone else.

I'd say that's a fair assessment, my dear.

I've long noticed that they only love people because the Bible told them to - they say it all the time.

Meanwhile I go about loving as many of you mangy mutts as I can because I happen to take delight in humanity...sad as it is. [shrugs]

I can't. My brain can't do it. I've got to get another drink.

Why do you think religioous charities advertise so much...it is a profit making business.

thats why i tell most charities to piss off.

think of it...you cant use capitalism to fix poverty. The money is too easy. The money is too addictive.
