Even if we limited ourselves to just this one incident, it appears that there were a few cops standing around who could have done some serving and protecting. They didn't.
To be fair, one of the standing around cops said, ‘Should we put him on his side?’ to which Chauvin replied, ‘He’s staying were he is.’ This appears to be what caused ‘evincing depraved mind’ to be included in the official charges.
So, even when some cops try to serve and protect, they get overruled by senior officers.

Cops are a necessary evil in our current society . But let's be clear they are ultimately an evil
They can be a good person but not a good cop that role is tainted

So cop #3 is tainted because they did the right thing and were punished for it?

As a person they are a good person who did the right thing

From my understanding the cops opened fire on the peaceful protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets, perhaps precipitating the riots.
Just to be clear, as far as I'm concerned, there is no excuse for rioting or looting and those involved deserve to have the book thrown at them, preferably wrapped around a brick.
There has to be something lacking in the way cops are educated and trained these days that they are unaware of the fact that their every action on the street is very likely to be recorded on one of the millions of cameras people carry with them.
They read too may Joseph Wambaugh novels. You can't get away with that shit anymore.

How do you know he wasn't resisting pre "knee on neck" ?
Why was the mayor wrong to say it? Black people die younger, have more health complicatikns, are gicen worse education, are murdered without consequence by state actors and caucasians, are far more likely to be heavily punished for minor crimes or even while innocent. And it's all becauee of the racist nature of the systems of power in the US.

Whoever allowed Chauvin to stay on the force despite his career long pattern of criminal behaviour should be up for negligent manslaughter, at the very least.

Boru You know, I was just reading about a guy who shot another guy in the back, three slugs from the guy's own gun.

Well, he was hardly likely to have his slugs in someone else's gun.
