Trump not welcome in Kenosha
#11
RE: Trump not welcome in Kenosha
Given that Trump needs for the violence to continue in order to push his ‘law and order’ narrative, this trip isn’t all that surprising.

As for the governor not welcoming him with open arms, it’s perfectly appropriate. Trump needs to be reminded that all of this has happened on HIS watch, that he’s done nothing to ameliorate it, and that his visit is going to be somewhat less than helpful.

Yeah..

Trump told those people to riot.....

Must be his fault.

Dodgy

It seems to me that Biden will blame Trump too...

Even though - as YOU point out - Trump has done nearly nothing about the situation... Btw - what EXACTLY do you think Trump could have done to shut down the lawlessness?

Send in the Army?

...
Near as I can see the immediate fault is with State abd local government sitting on their asses waiting for somebody else to fix their problems....

How about addressing the grievances of the protestors? You know - engaging them instead of dismissing them as domestic terrorists. Maybe toning down his rhetoric would have a calming effect. Maybe he could stop hiding behind his I-don’t-know-anything-about-that mantra, when it’s his fucking JOB to know.

No, the riots aren’t Trumps fault, and I never said they were. But not being his fault is a piss poor excuse for sitting back and watching your cities burn as part of a re-election strategy.

Micromanagment is not part of the President's job.

The people of Kenosha are the problem.

The people that they elected - mayor and other local government - plus those in State government that were elected by the people of that state - have fucked the pooch and allowed their constituents to turn things into shit.

NOW -they want to blame somebody...

Hey - go after the President.... He's one of that "other" party......

Yeah Trump is a knock kneed moron.

We know.

The problem isn't the people™............. it's that people have lost trust in our government, for cause.

Sounds like building trust in american governance might be something in the presidents wheelhouse. The fact that he's going to go and stoke further doubt, in the most cynically batshit way imaginable... in a city that already has problems... is a problem.

RE: Trump not welcome in Kenosha
Frankly, whether or not Trump could have done anything to stop the violence, it's clear that:
  • His party is the one least interested in examining the systemic racial issues that these protesters are so angry about in the first place.
  • Exploitation of protests and vilifying protesters isn't a new thing to the Republican party:

  • Trump is all but explicitly taking the side, not just of the deeply flawed police forces who keep killing unarmed black people, but of white supremacist vigilantes:

And, frankly, with all this in mind, it makes sense that the mayor of Kenosha can see this and say "You're not Helping!"

Just remember - this means it's ok for "the other party" to to tell YOUR president to fuck off.

...

I guess this is what they mean by "diversity"....

Dodgy

Afaik he didnt tell him to "fuck off".
Afaik, he asked Trump to reconsider his decision? What is so offensive about asking someone else to reconsider ones decision?
Afaik, Evers didnt blame Trump for anything, just stated that Trumps presence would be less than helpful.
Its a city in Evers´state. What is so offensive to be concerned about the state of cities in your state? If i was a citizen of Kenosha, id rather want a governor who tells his mind about whom he deems to be helpful and whom not, rather than someone who rolls over and subordinates himself to every self absorbed wanna be authoritarian who just came along. At what point in the past did you become so concerned about political correctness if i may ask?

"Diversity" does not mandatorily have to include assholes and idiots. At least i seemed to have missed the memo.

Trump's visit is throwing gasoline on a fire.

That's the whole point behind his wanting to go there.

There is no other reason for anyone to go willingly to Kenosha.

True.

But doesn't that apply to the protestors as well?
