No, I clearly see the difference between the two threads, and the hypocrisy created from it. I clearly understand the difference between acknowledgement and glorification, and for you to suggest otherwise is akin to insulting my intelligence.
Is it possible for you to post to ANYONE on this forum without insulting them in some way or fashion Epi?
Also, it is very clear to those who have studyied the world history of war of the rape and murder that comes along with damn near every single millitary action:
-American Civil War Richmond Virginia
-American civil war Atlanta campaign
- Japan burying chinese prisoners alive
Pictured above "Soldiers fighting for a cause"
- Japanese comfort women
- You know, I can honestly say that I can keep going and going and going with this list just for the 20th century. And please, dont insult my intelligence and tell me that i cant, or that these are special cases. Rape, mass killings, torture, child fucking and murder, etc, all the direct result and even encouraged by war.
..and one more thing. I have pointed out several times in the past that you are using "absurdism" incorrectly. there are TWO links in my signature that will explain what absurdism is, but the way you still insist on using that word incorrectly speaks volumes to me that you still havent done your homework, or that you tried to read it but was incapable of understanding or retaining the information. You have forced me once again to say "that is not what absurdism is about". Please take some time to research and understand what absurdism means before you post on it again.

I just disagree with the death penalty and eye for an eye, paaalease, it's the easy way out. I'm quite surprised, not in a good way, how many here advocate death.

Hehe, I can advocate it alright, I just don't think it should be included in the process of law.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Rev, since you continually whine about being insulted, though you have no issue meting it out yourself, I'll just refrain from bothering with you. You have not posted anything compelling up there. It would be, if it had application. No-one here has made any compelling argument against euthanizing or using for scientific experiments the people for whom I advocate the death penalty. Most are appeals to pity. I have none in these instances. Perhaps, if you guys had worked in law enforcement and dealt with rape victims and spoken at length with the detectives who deal with serial murderers, you would feel otherwise. Perhaps not. My mind was made up back in those days, and it has not changed. Call it inhuman, but when it knocks on your door, or harms someone you care about, be ready to reconsider. If you know the victim of a serial rapist and can sit with her and say, "Well, he got what he deserved. He's locked up for twenty years," you will be showing a far more inhuman side than I would with a well placed shotgun round.

And we're back to 'You haven't seen it, so what do you know?'. You may have missed my original post telling you what a patronising bunch of bullshit that is Epi, so allow me to reiterate that it's a patronising bunch of bullshit. Working in law enforcement does not give you the monopoly on informed judgements in this area.
I'm no hypocrite, Epi, and if it affected someone I cared about, or myself, I would not be calling for the chair, end of. If your stance on issues such as this rests so much on what's going on in your life, I could imagine you flip-flopping an awful lot. It could be said just as easily that if someone you know and care about turned out to be a rapist/murderer, you should be ready to reconsider your stance. My position on matters like this isn't so flimsy as to be subject to what happens to me and mine.

Gotta love it when someone who has never worked with that sort of human trash wants to suggest that there is more to it based on ... um, nothing but belief. El, I hate to tell you-er, no I don't: My stance is built out of experience, and it hasn't changed for twenty years. Flip flopping is for those with high ideals and no experience, patronization be damned.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Patronising bullshit. Expect better than that on here, really. Bad form.

Next time you have to comfort a rape victim, especially someone you love, let me know. Oh, and by the by, if you caught one of these fine gents doing horrible things to your girl, would you just politely ask him to push off?
You're doing just what I thought, too: Playing the beautiful dreamer.

I'd give him a kicking and call the cops. I wouldn't kill him.
Why would I?
It's not being a beautiful dreamer. It's not being a cunt.
