Ted Cruz (initially, at least) said his daughter's pressured him into the Cancun trip. So, you might say he crossed the border to find a better life for his children.

It's actually Colorado City, TX and he resigned.

Cruz isn't smart enough to resign.

Right now the water is spoiled due to all the broken pipes and such but that's not the answer to your question.
