JLP is hilarious if you give him a chance. What he's saying being so absurd is what makes it work so well as comedy. It's like watching Kenneth Copeland make a fool of himself while being hilarious at the same time. JLP is a pastor too, and he's playing up a character as a grift. If you go back ten years and look at his videos, he didn't talk like this back then.

He's my favourite comedian and without him I was stuck with just Andrew Schulz podcast and some other less funny guys like that. It just wasn't the same. It's offensive for sure. That's the point. It's dark comedy and satire. Many of the top comedians in the world have made jokes about 9/11 or the Holocaust or movie shootings or rape and most of us probably laughed. Dark humour is just dark humour. It's not meant to be taken so seriously.

True story: a few hours before I finally clicked on this thread for the first time, I had revisited Last Podcast on the Left's series on Jodi Arias and they made the nude pictures she took the day she killed Scott Alexander a running gag. Specifically one she took of her butthole. Somehow, the prospect of bickering with a racist almost made me forget about posting a reference to it.
