Some say man was created in god' s image. But a cursory glance at the gods of the world's different regions clearly show it to be the other way around.

Mormonism is just a new religion and it looks like it is crashing hard since the 1990s.

Anyway, their prophets are mostly men. The "god's" writers or should I say printers are all men.
Also, the priests in both Christianity and Islam are men except recently a few lady priests have popped up.
It is said that in the early days of christianity a few lady priests existed. They got fired or something.
In mormonism, only the men can be priesthood holders and for a long time, only white dudes could be priesthood holders. Their god change his mind on that a few decades ago.

It's a bit absurd to say that man is created in God's image when God doesn't in fact have an image.

This ignores those passages in the bible where God's backside is seen, for which I'm told that the appropriate response is simply to double down on God's invisibility.

In order to be able to sit, you need gravity. gravity is pulling the god in the direction of his chair.
The seraphim has body parts. 6 wings. With 2, he covers his face. Why?
2 wings covers his feet. Why?
2 wings are used for flying. Apparently, these guys are like birds or butterflies and there is gravity. There is also a need for a gas, such as air, so that these bird people can fly.
The primitive jew who wrote this can’t imagine an environment without gravity, rocket packs and alternative methods of getting around.

Smoke comes out of his nostrils and he is something like a fire breathing dragon. The ancient man who wrote those lines was aware of the existence of coal.
Apparently, gravity has an effect on their gods.
When the jewish god walks on the ceiling (which is the sky.), it deforms.
In order for god to fly, he sits on angels and these angels flap their wings and they take him from spaceheaven to Earth and from Earth back to spaceheaven.

Were you raised as a literalist evangelical? I've heard that there are some people in the world who think that every word in the Bible is meant literally, but I don't think I've ever met one. Certainly I've never met anyone who takes it to the extreme that you're going to.

In English, there are a lot of idioms and phrases related to body parts which aren't meant literally. 

all ears = fully listening; cold feet = nervous just before a big event; cost an arm and a leg = be very expensive; cry your heart out = cry very hard; (my) flesh and blood = relative; get something off one's chest = tell someone your problems; have one's head in the clouds = be unaware or unrealistic about something

There are a lot of these. I think it would be strange for a native speaker not to know them, or not to understand that this is how language works. For example, you apparently think that the law has a long arm, since we speak of it. 

An image, by definition, is not the same as the thing depicted. It does not contain the essence of the thing depicted. So for example if you have a passport photo, it is an image of you. But there are major differences. Your real head is bigger, for instance. It is round. It is attached to the rest of your body. It exists in time, moving around. Its hair grows. Most importantly, behind the face is a brain where (we hope) all sorts of things are happening. So the "primitive jews" who think that the passport photo is an accurate depiction of what you are would be very silly. In fact it is doubtful that such people ever existed.
