Yup, that’s one of the crucial differences. Scales are all but immaterial in determining relationships between the groups - all lizards and dinosaurs and birds have scales, but not all scaled animals are lizards, dinosaurs or birds.

Which has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether birds are dinosaurs are lizards. If you’re going to claim bubble-bursting, you’ll need to point out something relevant to the discussion.
