But what did the Quran -the revelation of God- say about him?
I found a verse that clears the picture more and more:
Quote:Sura 24, The Quran:
https://quran.com/24:35?store=false&translations=
(35) Allah is The Light of the heavens and the earth; the similitude of His Light is as a niche wherein is a lamp, the lamp in a glass, the glass as it were a glittering planet-kindled from a Blessed Tree, an olive that is neither eastern nor western, whose oil would almost illuminate, even if no fire touched it, Light upon Light; Allah guides to His Light whomever He decides, and Allah strikes similitudes for mankind, and Allah is Ever-Knowing of everything.
— Dr. Ghali
Looking directly at strong light will burn your iris.
Another verse says about God:
Quote:Sura 6, The Quran:
https://quran.com/6:103?store=false&translations=
(103) Beholdings (i.e., eyesights) cannot perceive Him, and He perceives be holdings and He is The Ever-Kind, The Ever-Cognizant.
— Dr. Ghali
That's why we can't see him. We will lose sight at the mere looking towards God; because he is the light itself: the light of heaven and earth combined. The light of the universe.
-and you realize that these passages from magic book...and you, routinely anthropomorphize god...right?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Can you show that someone has been blinded in any way by looking at God? At least that would be evidence. No, instead what you've got is the usual empty religious claims to cover your god's ass.
Tell you what, tell me how to look into the light. I'll risk blindness for science.
What? You say you can't? Yeah, you got nothing but empty drivel.

An ass which old magic book claims he's literally shown to a man who never went blind.

We have can detect (all across the universe)
Radio
Microwave
Infrared
Optical
Ultraviolet
x-Ray
Gamma-ray
Cosmic -ray
I have not read yet about a paper that claims to have detected him. He seems to be undetectable, and thus indistinguishable from a nonexisting god. After all, universe creating pixies also could be "the light of the universe" and its been those Pixies that are hitting our detectors all the time.
I prefer to believe in Pixies, at least they are far less violent than your tribal warlord god.

Am I paraphrasing that right?
What happens when we're presented with the concept of "You can't grasp the 'Unknowable'?" Does down that path lie madness?
No, somethings are just "too much" for our eyes to look at; we even discovered normal objects in the universe that can turn you blind if you look at them:
https://lasvegassun.com/news/2017/dec/02...sion-to-m/
Quote:Research performed on the International Space Station shows prolonged time in space can cause temporary, and sometimes permanent, blindness, said the space station’s chief scientist recently on “Nevada Newsmakers.”
“One of the things we discovered in the last 10 years is that some astronauts, when they go into space, actually have vision loss,” said Julie Robinson, the chief scientist of the ISS. “A few of those astronauts have permanent vision loss that isn't reversed when they turn to Earth.”
You will lose vision if you look directly at the sun for a long time, even.
Can you provide any evidence that astronauts on the ISS were in the habit of looking directly at the sun? As a group, astronauts are smarter than the average bear - I can’t picture any of them thinking it would be a good idea to ‘look directly at the sun for a long time’.
Boru
Edit: Never mind, found this:
They’re NOT Staring At The Sun, You Idiot
Quote:. A study found that the vision deterioration in astronauts is likely due to the lack of a day-night cycle in intracranial pressure. Researchers found that in zero-gravity conditions, intracranial pressure is higher than when people are standing or sitting on Earth, but lower than when people are sleeping on Earth. This suggests that the constancy of pressure on the back of the eye is what causes the vision problems astronauts experience over time.
