Great interview with Chomsky. He dispels all of the disinformation coming from Western media about Putin supposedly becoming a mad man overnight and attacking without provocation. Chomsky makes the point that if Ukraine somehow is facing the prospect of actually winning this thing, Russia with their backs against the wall, may well resort to using weapons on Ukraine that they have not used yet, and if they do, are we really going to fight WW3 over Ukraine? And before anyone comes in with a fifth grade insult about me liking the Putin pee pee, let me just say, that's very George W. Bush of you and I like how you've adopted Bush' neo-con foreign policy philosophy. As W Bush said, you're either with us, or you're against us. Or, how about, I'm against a proxy war with a nuclear armed Russia that stands the risk of escalating into something much more disastrous for the world?

So that's why we want to.. air quotes.. help Ukraine? Because of the geo-political interests involved, and not because we care so much about Ukrainian lives like Western media is telling me? That's why Putin invaded in the first place and has killed tens of thousands. Because of your geo-political goals and poking at the bear. And WW3 might be a whole other ball of wax than previous world wars. We have a nuclear armed world now and mutually assured destruction in nuclear warfare is not an idea to just scoff at. How would the US like it if one of the countries on their border, Mexico or Canada, turned anti-American and became top allies with Russia or were pro-China but anti-America? |
